Time will tell when we all die Tight smiles and teary goodbyes Climbing over stones to see the next sun But we die before the day is done What do we live for
We burn as bright as a candle Our own flames too hot for us to handle When the heat touches our skin, we melt When the wind blows our tall frame, we bend Our flames goes out, it ends
Time will tell when we all fade Our footprints gone, all erased The sand no longer remembers our story Chapters gone, the valour, the glory Dieing will be man's greatest folly
Authors note We were having a presentation in class today and my anxiety made it so hard to concentrate on the speech I had memorized. I started chewing on my pen and the next thing I knew, I was writing on my notepad instead.
The poem feels kinda dark, maybe I'll be brighter tomorrow.
