Café y merienda // Coffee and snack ☕😋

¡Nunca es tarde para una deliciosa taza de café! Y menos después de una jornada que te deja con esa grata sensación de haber trabajado bastante y disfrutado de todo lo que se pudo hacer. Es como una manera de valorar todo el esfuerzo y la dedicación implicada en este día, y en mi caso no existe mejor premio que poder tomarme un café bien fuerte y con merienda incluida. En esta oportunidad no se trató de una galleta o una torta, sino de algo que para mí tiene un gusto muy especial. Se trata de los frutos secos, sea el caso de la granola, el merey o los cereales surtidos. Quizás para algunos una extraña combinación pero para mí es algo muy especial que no suelo hacer constantemente, pero cada vez que puedo me doy este gusto con mucha felicidad. Y así como pensé en un principio que solo sería una taza de café, lo cierto es que terminó siendo un rato agradable con la mejor merienda como acompañante. Media taza de café y media taza de cereales. ¿Qué más podría pedir? >It's never too late for a delicious cup of coffee! And even less after a day that leaves you with that pleasant feeling of having worked hard and enjoyed everything that could be done. It is like a way to appreciate all the effort and dedication involved in this day, and in my case there is no better prize than being able to have a strong coffee with a snack included. This time it was not a cookie or a cake, but something that for me has a very special taste. >It's all about nuts, be it granola, cashews or assorted cereals. Maybe for some a strange combination but for me it is something very special that I do not usually do constantly, but every time I can I give myself this pleasure with great happiness. And just as I thought at first that it would only be a cup of coffee, the truth is that it ended up being a pleasant time with the best snack as a companion. Half a cup of coffee and half a cup of cereal, what more could I ask for?  Admito que por un instante consideré en comer un helado en vez de tomar café, y es que con el calor que estuvo haciendo sobre todo en horas de la tarde la opción de algo frío era bastante tentativa. Después de bajar al cafetín, mi amigo me ofreció el café conjuntamente con los cereales, y así fue como rápidamente desistí de comprar el helado. Tenía tantas ganas de comerme los frutos secos que no pude esperar a que el café estuviera listo así que iba comiendo mientras mi amigo lo preparaba. Todo esto me hace recordar cuando siendo tan solo un adolescente recolectaba las semillas de merey de una mata que estaba frente a mi casa. Al recogerlas, las dejaba llevando sol, y después de un rato las ponía a tostar a fuego lento. A veces con mis amigos lograbamos recoger un montón de semillas, y ya al tenerlas listas cada uno agarraba su porción para compartirlo con la familia. Desde siempre me han gustado las semillas y los frutos secos, a tal punto que hoy puedo pasar todo un día comiendo sin aburrirme. >I admit that for a moment I considered eating an ice cream instead of coffee, and with the heat it was getting especially in the afternoon, the option of something cold was quite tempting. After going down to the café, my friend offered me the coffee along with the cereal, and so I quickly gave up buying the ice cream. I wanted to eat the nuts so badly that I couldn't wait for the coffee to be ready, so I was eating while my friend was preparing it. >All this reminds me of when I was just a teenager I used to collect cashew seeds from a bush in front of my house. When I picked them, I would leave them in the sun, and after a while I would roast them over a low flame. Sometimes with my friends we managed to collect a lot of seeds, and when they were ready, each one of us would take a portion to share with the family. I have always liked seeds and nuts, to such an extent that today I can spend a whole day eating them without getting bored.   Me sorprende lo costoso que ahora puede ser el merey y la granola. Realmente es un lujo poderlas comer de manera constante. En ocasiones hasta cuesta poder tener para preparar café en las tardes, así que cada vez que se presenta la oportunidad en donde trabajo, me siento con mis amigos a conversar sobre lo que hicimos en el día mientras disfrutamos de un buen café. Hay tardes en las que nos salimos un poco de la rutina y tomamos chocolate caliente o avena, opciones que pasan a ser algo esporádicas en comparación al café. No me imaginé terminar así mi día, así que espero que estas clases de sorpresas se presenten más seguido. No hay opción que sobresalga cuando se trata de café y granola al mismo tiempo, y si mañana tuviera que elegir no dudaría en elegir la misma merienda. A todas estas, ya hemos cultivado un bonito hábito de encontrarnos en el cafetín al finalizar el trabajo y pasar unos minutos compartiendo un buen café. Por muy cansado y apurado que esté, siempre hay espacio y tiempo para experimentar gratos momentos con el aroma y el sabor de un delicioso café. >I am amazed at how expensive cashews and granola can be now. It really is a luxury to be able to eat them on a consistent basis. Sometimes it's even hard to be able to afford to make coffee in the afternoons, so whenever the opportunity arises where I work, I sit down with my friends to talk about what we did during the day while enjoying a good cup of coffee. There are afternoons when we get out of the routine and have hot chocolate or oatmeal, options that become somewhat sporadic compared to coffee. >I didn't imagine ending my day like this, so I hope these kinds of surprises happen more often. There is no option that stands out when it comes to coffee and granola at the same time, and if I had to choose tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate to choose the same snack. By now, we have cultivated a nice habit of meeting at the coffee shop at the end of work and spending a few minutes sharing a good coffee.
