Tasmania Day 6 - Part 2 - Branxholm & Surrounds

Branxholm is a town known for its timber, saw mills, and hop fields. It has a population of a bit over 250.

The Garden

Our accommodation for night six was set amongst an expansive garden, complete with a system of ponds. I've gone back to my roots here, with some close up photos of plants -

We also saw the resident geese -

Dinner & A Sunset

We went in search of dinner, and headed to the local pub; we had been told that the counter meal was alright. Arriving at 7.45, dinner service had already finished, and we were turned away with empty stomachs. We had been told to check out the pizza place in town; also closed. We ended up trekking further out to Derby, a town famous for Mountain Bike tracks. For the second night in a row, we had pizza for dinner. We attempted to remedy the situation by also ordering a salad - a delightful rocket, parmesan, pear & walnut salad.

We enjoyed some local brews, a lovely crisp apple cider for me, and awful beer for @forexbrokr (I can't stand drinking beer, the taste is awful!)

Driving back to the accommodation, we were treated with an impressive sunset. Photos do not do it justice, but I'll try -

We went to bed, ready for the next day. We were eager to cook up the eggs and bacon that our host had left for us.
