Another year, another cycle of sharing about the herbs I know & grow. But, I don't want to simply repeat the herbal profiles I shared last year and the year before.

This time around I want to share about my own experience with these herbs. I want to only pick up my herbalism books for the correct spelling of their Latin names. Everything else comes from my own experimentation and what I have learned from the herbs themselves. My own HerbLore, if you will.
Starting with Rose or Rosa ...

Younger me would totally laugh at my current obsession with roses. As a proud tom-boy I thought roses were for old ladies and anything remotely pink was discarded immediately. As an adult I still don't vibe with pink clothing but, there is something about roses that reaches directly into my heart.
While most herbalism books state that dried rose petals are best used for digestive issues, I find that rose petals (organically grown rose petals) really shine as an ingredient in herbal lotions.

So, this year I am focusing on collecting roses for my herbal business and really thinking about how I can share my recipes for homemade rose oils, lotions, perfumes and more.
