Good morning friends!
I have heard the lamentations of SO MANY of my fellow players, that I have decided to divulge my secret to victory on this most hate of maps 😎
I hope you are ready - because I am excited to share this with you!!
Before we get started, let us take a moment to review BASIC MILITARY STRATEGY and how that relates to this game...
In order to be truly effective at this game one must have a modicum of Military Intelligence. MI is quite the oxymoron but I digress...
Yeah... something like that.
There are only two strategies I employ in Soulkeep:
- Maximize the Voodoo Sapper
- DON'T FU#%#ING DIE!!
The map "Seismograph" requires us to utilize the latter of those strategies 😅
So... what Military Tactics do I employ to ensure I don't succumb to the horde that overwhelms so many people???
Tactic #1: The "Killbox"
That's right Major, you tell'em.
Now, I am sure a few of you reading this are going to know what a Killbox is. For those of you who do not, I will elaborate.
A "Killbox" is a term used to describe an area of engagement, where joint weaponry can be brought to bear to engage an enemy force with maximum effectiveness.
Basically, if an enemy is in a certain area... you want to eliminate them with extreme prejudice.
Ok... maaaaaybe that last one was a little extreme...
Nahhh... you're right... it was perfect.
Ok so, we have the "Killbox" term defined...
On to the next!!
Tactic 2: The "Machine Gun Trap"
This is pretty self explanatory... and if you guessed "This is probably some sort of trap... involving a machine gun..."... well... YOU'RE RIGHT!!!
So... how does this particular tactic work usually??
Step 1: Set up a Machine Gun in a concealed position along a predetermined route
Step 2: Use someone or something as bait
Step 3: After the bait is spotted or fires at the enemy... they run away!
Step 4: The bait runs along the predetermined route and past the concealed MG
Step 5: 
Pretty simple and VERY EFFECTIVE especially against enemies who may not be aware of this tactic.
This bring us to the last and MOST IMPORTANT Tactic employed on this specific map...
Tactic 3: The "Chokepoint"
Ever since I was a child, I have been playing strategy and wargames with my father. I learned about the battle of Thermopylae when I was 10 and used its lessons to great success beating my dad at Risk by taking and holding Australia - using Siam as my "Thermopylae".
You are probably ALSO familiar with the battle of Thermopylae... but this is where you learned about it:
A Chokepoint is where a LOT of Enemies... would be funneled into a SMALL AREA... This is the IDEAL SPOT for your Killbox... So let me ask you this...
"Does Seismograph have a spot like this"?
Let's go take a look!
The Map: Seismograph
Please forgive my basic and simplistic artistic ability to "retouch" this map. When you load a Replay from your Battle Log, it doesn't load it from "The Beginning"... it loads it from right before you click "Start"... so all Spells were used and all Towers/Hero Placed.
I used Paint to "Retouch" this map so it looks like it would when you first start. I do not remember how much Mana was available though and I apologize 😩
Here is the map "Seismograph" in all it's glory... Many of you probably HATE this map... I personally LOVE this map as I crush it, routinely.
The first thing I want you to look for... is a CHOKEPOINT... Do you see it?
I'm sure you see it... it should be fairly obvious after reading this far... but if you don't... here you go:
I mean... Ray Charles could probably see that... but just in case, I circled in ORANGE
With the strategies laid out and the chokepoint identified... let's see how ya boy Dingus did!
Wave 1 Setup

Wave 2 Setup
As you can see, Wave 1 was OBLITERATED by a highly effective and coordinated defense!
I had my "Slow Towers" up front... and the "Arty Boyz" blocking the Chokepoint... backed up by a death dealing Shock Tower and Celene!
Wave 2 doesn't change much, as those were all Commons and Rares...

Wave 3 Setup
Wave 2 met the same fate as Wave 1 - #CRUSHED in the Killbox 😎
Here's the setup for Wave 3 below!
As you can see the upper Jack's Joke got a Dmg Upgrade and I have a Mana Mania in play... RIGHT IN THE KILLBOX... This will maximize my score (hypothetically)... I also put a Kansas Twister down to slow down any fiends that enter the Mana Mania radius... so they can enter... BUT THEY'LL NEVER LEAVE!!! MUAHAHAHA!!!

Wave 4 Setup
Look what happens when you kill all those Fiends in the Mana Mania #Killbox!!
I added another Shock Tower to get ready for the Death Kitties... I also added more "Slow Towers" as well as a pair of Voodoo Sappers!!

Wave 5 Setup
With all that mana from the Fiends who met their end in the Mana Mania killbox... I got more upgrades for both Jack's Jokes, Voodoo Sappers, the Slime Lord in front of the killbox and the top Shock Therapy - not to mention, laid out another Kansas Twister and Mana Mania!
Let's see how Wave 5 fares against these layered defenses!!

Utterly REKT!!! On to the final wave - Wave 6!!! Can he do it?!?! Can he have a PERFECT GAME with ZERO Hearts lost to those dastardly Fiends?!?! Let's see!!
Wave 6 Setup
As you can see below, I spent all the mana upgrading my Shock Towers and Voodoo Sappers... Gotta ensure I can get all the points I can in my Mana Mania Killbox 😎

That's right ladies and gents... NOT A SINGLE FIEND MADE IT PAST MY DEFENSES!!!
Make sure you have your Towers and Spells upgraded to the MAX LEVEL for your League - yes, it matters!!!
If you can't max them, RENT THEM!! It is EXTREMELY cheap to do so and the $SPS payout can be BONKERS!!
