Tarrina
Tarrina was Locum Alset’s wife. She and Locum helped raise Sanguine before he came of age to become the Chief of the North. After that, she returned to Carrington City with Locum.
Teahena Carvaress
Teahena was the wife of Malcolm Carvaress and the mother of Noilemac. They were the last remaining members of the Carvaress family living in the North District. The family survived the rebellion by hiding in the mountains.
Many years later, the fortunes of the family changed. Tiberius visited the Carvaress family to inform them about what happened to their daughter Noilemac as well as reveal that an orphan was in their home impersonating her. Tiberius used this opportunity to trap Teahena and Malcolm in the library. Tiberius proceeded to set the house on fire. Both Teahena and Malcolm were killed in the fire.
Technicians
Technicians started as the employees in the Alset facility in the North District. They were given a drug that enabled them to focus intently on any task given to them. This drug also caused them brain damage. This brain damage caused them to be more placid and less questioning of authority or the tasks they had been given. Eventually, the technicians became the main employees of the Alset Company in all districts.
After the stadium disaster, the technicians were forced to move to Carrington City and Cellrebrum City. These cities became giant prisons for the Alset family and their employees. They continued working for the Alset Company and produced output used by the rest of Sapey.
When the enforcers attacked and destroyed both Carrington and Cellrebrum cities, the technicians moved underground to operate the underground cities. They remained underground for a thousand years.
Teddy
Teddy was once a nervous Trisomy-21 Sapien waiting at a train station to travel to the new Downs Region. This changed when Jonah approached him. Teddy and Jonah became inseparable friends. Jonah greatly contributed to building Teddy’s confidence.
Teddy became the first representative for the Downs Region. He went to the Capital Region parliament and made a brilliant and historic speech. To Maskameera’s dismay, Teddy received a standing ovation. This temporality dethroned her prenatal termination programme.
Despite his popularity, Teddy was never elected as governor. However, he will always be remembered as the most legendary representative for the Downs Region.
Tiberius
Tiberius was born in the North District. His father was Sanguine, the Chief in the North, and Erin. Tiberius had an older twin brother, Titus, who was kidnapped as a baby but was believed to be dead. Sanguine was very strict with Tiberius. He wanted him to be a strong chief. Instead, Tiberius became angry and resentful towards his father. When Titus returned to the family, Tiberius felt rejected, as he was no longer in line to become chief, which was something he had always been promised.
Tiberius visited and confronted Titus’ former kidnapper. Before killing the kidnapper, Tiberius found out that Titus was planning to poison and kill his family. Tiberius returned home with the kidnapper’s head in a bag. He revealed the head to Titus. Titus was shocked. Tiberius charged Titus with a knife and stabbed him to death. Sanguine came out and embraced Tiberius. He knew he foiled Titus and the kidnapper’s plan. Erin watched in horror.
Sanguine became more focused on training Tiberius to be chief. Despite his young age, Sanguine promoted Tiberius to head of his guards. The former head became the head trainer and a mentor to Tiberius. Like his father, Tiberius adopted a very tough stance on crime. He made sure anyone suspected of committing a crime suffered terrible punishments.
Tiberius developed a strange obsession with the orphanage and the orphans. He wanted the oldest orphans to join his guards. He used brutal tactics to determine who he considered the toughest. The most brutal tactic was to force them to fight to the death. Sanguine did not like the way Tiberius treated the orphans, but he did little to stop him.
One of the orphans, NB14572, later referred to as the Hat Lady, stood up to Tiberius. Tiberius hated her defiance, which cost Tiberius some respect from his own guards. With the help of the head trainer, Tiberius obtained almost absolute obedience from his guards. His focus turned back to the orphans.
NB14572 and her best friend NB14564 attempted to escape the orphanage and the North District. Their attempt to escape was foiled by the head trainer. Tiberius took the two children into the woods. To punish NB14572 for the trouble she had caused him, he brutally cut off NB14564’s legs, leaving him to bleed to death. NB14572 was completely shattered. Tiberius felt he finally had her under control.
NB14572 escaped the orphanage again. This time she did not try to escape the North District, and the orphanage did not report her escape. However, an orphanage employee saw her playing with Noilemac. She informed the guards. The guards grabbed the two girls. NB14572 shapeshifted into Noilemac and shapeshifted Noilemac into her. Noilemac was taken back to the orphanage.
Tiberius rushed to the orphanage to see if the guards had captured the right girl. Tiberius was unsure, so he killed her to see if she would shapeshift into NB14572; she did not. Tiberius knew he had killed the wrong girl. To dispose of her, he told his guards to throw her onto a fire. He also threw Melandria on the fire as well because she was a witness.
Tiberius went to the Carvaress mansion to retrieve NB14572. He informed Noilemac’s parents that the girl in their house was an imposter and their actual daughter had been killed in the orphanage. Her parents were shocked, but Tiberius convinced them to pursue NB14572.
Tiberius took the opportunity to set the house on fire using the many candles they had lit. He wanted to kill NB14572 and cover his tracks by wiping out the Carvaress family. Noilemac’s parents were trapped inside and died, but NB14572 managed to escape. She slipped away into the mountains, where she hid for years.
Sanguine found out that Tiberius was behind the fire that killed the Carvaress family. He wanted to strip Tiberius of his position as captain of the guards. Tiberius responded by ordering his guards to rape and kill his own mother. Tiberius always felt ashamed that his mother was not from a noble family, thus tainting his own bloodline. Sanguine deeply cared for his wife and was completely distraught after watching her torture and death. After this, Sanguine became submissive to Tiberius. He may have remained chief, but Tiberius controlled him from behind the scenes.
Years later, because of the sale of the Alset Company's asset, the North District could no longer function. Sanguine, after he denounced his leadership of North, pleaded with Governor Ryan to help his son obtain a position in the Government. He knew that the job of Head Enforcer was the only position currently vacant and matched his son’s skillset well. Ryan, with a little convincing from his wife, appointed Tiberius as the first Head Enforcer. Tiberius saw this as an opportunity to take control over the Capital District.
It was time for the Pound Ball Grand Final. James Yensid packed the stadium well beyond capacity. Tiberius ordered his most loyal guards to fill the sprinklers in the upper decks with acid and plant explosives in some of the columns holding up the stadium roof and upper decks. At halftime, the sprinklers were activated. This caused the fans to stampede towards the field, but nobody could access the field because of the plexiglass. The pillars fell, and the sections they were holding up collapsed on top of the fans.
Altogether over 50,000 were killed in this disaster; this included Ryan’s wife, Saliyah. Tiberius was able to blame the disaster on James Yensid for poor safety standards, Hadrian Alset for sabotaging the stadium, and the rest of the Alset family for being complicit.
A jury was formed to sentence the perpetrators. Hadrian was sentenced to death and was to be executed. Tiberius asked the crowd if they would grant him mercy, knowing that there was zero chance they would. Suddenly, Ryan arrived. He addressed the angry crowd, telling them that he let them down. He told them that they should listen to Tiberius and grant Hadrian mercy. The crowd demanded mercy for Hadrian. Initially, Tiberius was furious, but that changed quickly when Ryan announced he was stepping down and that he endorsed Tiberius to be the new governor.
Tiberius’ long reign as governor had begun. Every four years, Tiberius was required to run for re-election. Every time he won. Tiberius and Sanguine ensured that Tiberius had only one viable opposition, and that was the House of Divine Knowledge. Tiberius used fear to control their weak leadership.
Sanguine created his entertainment action team to control the narrative and maintain the perception that Tiberius was the superior leader to the opposition supported by the House of Divine Knowledge. The technology revolution, which continued to improve the quality of life and standard of living, supported the narrative pushed by the entertainment action team. A change in leadership was not a risk the majority of the population wanted to take.
Tiberius was a tyrant. He kept slaves and encouraged others to do so as well. He argued that those who were unable or refused to have genetically modified children were inferior. He faced little resistance because Sapey was experiencing such a strong period of prosperity.
Things started to change as the genetically modified Linap looked less favourably on Tiberius. They wanted a leader from their own generation. Tiberius’ popularity took a hit when the second generation of genetically modified Linap were sick.
Tiberius blamed it on the Alset family, claiming they were poisoning them with radiation emitted from the technology they were providing them. Tiberius vowed to destroy the Alset family. He set off with his enforcers to destroy the cities they were being held in. Before he left, he revealed to Sanguine that he was the one behind the stadium disaster and then mocked him over the death of his wife.
Finally, Sanguine had had enough and plotted to kill Tiberius during the attack. The plan almost succeeded, but Tiberius fell into a tunnel beneath the Alset mansion and escaped the bombardment. Tiberius knew he had been betrayed and could not return to the surface. He also knew that the Alset family would want him killed. Therefore, he decided to freeze himself in one of the pods. Hamish had been killed, so he decided he would take his place.
One thousand years later, Polly and Jennifer defrosted Tiberius. Polly placed a Jennifer chip in his head in an attempt to unlock his memories. What she found was deeply disturbing. August, who was now using his Colin persona, and Maskameera, who was now using her Julie persona, wanted to make use of Tiberius to take control of the Downs Region.
The underground Linap believed Tiberius was Hamish, and the other defrosted Linap were unable to correct them because they had lost their memories. Tiberius brought with him a special seaweed that could cure the illnesses in the Downs residents caused by the contaminated water supply.
In exchange for this cure, Tiberius wanted the Downs residents to help build settlements for the underground Linap, who were intolerant to bright sunlight from their years underground.
Through some trickery, Tiberius and his team convinced the Downs leadership team to accept a deal. Tiberius was once again the leader. This time around he was under the control of Jennifer, who could still be controlled by Lily, August, and Maskameera.
Timothy
Timothy was a Linap sent to Cellrebrum because he was infertile. He played an important role in helping residents of Cellrebrum escape when the enforcers attacked.
Titus
Titus was Tiberius’ older twin brother. He was kidnapped when he was a baby and was believed to be dead. For years, he lived in the mountains with his kidnapper named Will. Will treated Titus as if he were his own son. However, he wanted Titus to take over as chief. One day, Titus lured Tiberius to his lodgings in the mountains. As expected, Tiberius informed his father, Sanguine. When Sanguine saw Titus, he accepted him back into the family. This made Tiberius jealous.
Titus planned to kill Sanguine, Erin, and Tiberius by poisoning their food. Tiberius discovered this plot from Will when he visited him. Tiberius killed Will and returned home. He killed Titus before anyone could eat the poisoned food.
Tony
Tony was the son of Sylvie. Tony was a back-bred child. Backbreeding was illegal in Sapey. It was considered a tainting of their species, and the back-bred children were considered a threat to the ‘pure’ modified Linap. When a law was passed that all Linap needed to relocate in the cities, Sylvie was afraid that Tony would be caught. Therefore, she hid with him in the no-go zone.
They could not hide for long. Eventually a farming robot detected them. This led to them being taken to the West District House of Divine Knowledge; see Sylvie’s story. The enforcer sent by Maskameera detained Sylvie and took Tony to the medical centre for tests to be conducted on him. She wanted to prove he had been back-bred.
Marlon arrived in time to thwart her plan. He determined the results of the tests did not prove there was anything abnormal with Tony that could prove he was back-bred. Both Tony and Sylvie were returned to the House of Divine Knowledge. They were no longer in danger. Maskameera’s attention had shifted to something else.
Trafalgar (Head Philosopher)
Trafalgar was a first-generation new Linap. Trafalgar replaced Etnad as Head Philosopher after he died. During the decline of Sapey, Trafalgar became a governor. He agreed to support the creation of the new Sapien species if it was written in divine law that they would never be slaves.
The Triplets
The triplets played as catchers for the Phoenix City Flyers Pound Ball Team. They were incredibly athletic and entertaining to watch. They led their team to the Grand Final, which they probably would have won if it were not for the disaster.
Twaldi
Twaldi was Waldo the Third’s younger brother. He was the head of the Economic Institute. When Waldo lost in the election, Twaldi was demoted and replaced by an employee named Atlas.
When Tiberius became governor, Twaldi regained his role as head of the Economic Institute. He remained in this role for almost another two decades. Eventually, he retired, and Marlon took his place.
A string of events led to Marlon leaving the role. Once again, Twaldi took over. He helped James regain some of his wealth. A couple of decades later, Twaldi died of an illness that was detected too late because of the failing healthcare system.
Vector the Ventriloquist
Vector was the first elected governor for Agriah. He easily defeated Chief Strawley. He then used his favourite puppet, Gillman, to make fun of him. Vector did not remain governor for long. He resigned when he was accused of fraud. According to Gillman, he had hired puppets and kept their salaries for himself.
Not long afterwards, he became an important member of the entertainment action team. The audience found his bickering and frequent fights with Gillman hilarious.
Victor
Victor was the leader of the Inquisitives. He opposed the apparent lack of freedom in Adoy. He desired to challenge the status quo but was dismissed by most as being crazy or a troublemaker.
When Orcille joined the Inquisitives, his movement finally had a voice. However, things went downhill very quickly. Orcille’s presentation at the House of Divine Knowledge incited a riot. During the confusion, two girls disappeared.
Orcille framed Victor for kidnapping them. However, Victor was not arrested immediately because his secret lover, Commander Vulkay, protected him. New evidence strongly suggested Victor was responsible for the kidnapping. Vulay felt she had to arrest him. Victor resisted, which led to him being shot and killed.
Vulay
Vulay was a commander in the Adoy enforcers. She was responsible for the arrest of the Inquisitives. Victor, the leader of the Inquisitives, had been accused of kidnapping the two girls who had gone missing. After questioning the arrested Inquisitives for most of the night, she released them.
Vulay sympathised with them because of her secret relationship with Victor. Everything changed when the two girls were found. From the photographs they were shown, the girls identified Denise and Morgan as two of the kidnappers.
The Head Enforcer noticed Victor’s photograph was not there. He ordered the arrests of Morgan and Victor. Vulay rushed off to reach Victor before the other enforcers could. She managed to do so, but Victor refused to be arrested. The other enforcers arrived shortly afterwards. An enforcer named Arville shot Victor in the back, killing him. He claimed he did so to protect Vulay from Victor.
Vulay was arrested for her involvement with Victor. Vulay was detained in the holding cell with Denise and Orcille. During the short time together, the three of them bonded. Vulay was then transferred to the Cellrebrum Rehabilitation Centre along with Morgan. She was given a cell that was more like a private apartment. She was heavily drugged through her food and vents in the cell. These drugs made her hallucinate about whatever she thought about the most. Most of her hallucinations involved Victor. She even hallucinated that male staff members were Victor.
A short while later, Arville was given an assignment in the Cellrebrum Rehabilitation Centre. He did not realise he was also being assessed. He visited Vulay as part of her rehabilitation, but his real intent was to torment her.
Vulay hallucinated that Arville was Victor. Arville happily played along. Dr. Cortex, the head of the facility, could see what Arville was doing and had him removed from Vulay’s cell. Arville was furious; he demanded he be allowed to do things his way.
The next time around, a gas was released into the cell, drugging both Vulay and Arville. It became clear Arville was deeply disturbed. He was immediately failed. He was then taken to the Carvaress laboratory in the Capital Region.
Vulay was a candidate for a new compliance drug. This drug was meant to induce complete compliance to any instructions. She was given several instructions, and she obeyed all. She had become zombie-like.
Dr. Cortex wanted her obedience to be better utilised. Therefore, he implanted the Jennifer chip in her head. She became fully obedient to Jennifer. Dr. Cortex was very pleased with the results. He wanted Vulay to return to Adoy and become the new Head Enforcer. He successfully persuaded Governor Collingswaggle of her value with the demonstration that she was willing to give her life to protect him.
Vulay returned to Adoy and replaced the outgoing Head Enforcer. She started her tenure in dramatic fashion. She arrested Jacob and Janice. She had Arville killed. She sent the badly injured Polly to the Jeed Region to be turned into a cyborg. She tricked Denise into transferring to Cellrebrum. However, she soon encountered her first problem.
The train carrying Pardi’s solution had arrived. Jennifer was highly suspicious of the solution. She used Vulay to sta
