Sundays are always special days for Christians. It's a day when we gather to praise God and listen to His Word, but it's also a time when I personally like to take a good rest, even in the kitchen. Cooking is something I do every day and enjoy, but today I just wanted to get home and rest.

So, thinking about everything, I mentioned to my husband that I'd like to buy some Chinese food to take home. It was really something that came to me out of the blue.

Here in our country, it's very common to see Chinese restaurants in many places. We can find them in both rich and poor neighborhoods. For as long as I can remember, Chinese food has had a very important place here in Venezuela.

And I grew up eating fried rice with chicken and shrimp, in addition to lumpias, which are my favorites with their sweet and sour sauce. I remember that when I was a teenager, I had a boyfriend, and he would always visit me, and his gift for me was a pot of Chinese rice, hahaha. He knew I loved that kind of food.

And so, I've had many anecdotes and stories about Chinese food. I've visited several restaurants, some more luxurious than others. Ultimately, the important thing is that the food looks delicious.

My husband and I used to eat this food a lot, not only because we like it but because it's quite reasonably priced. But we moved and suddenly we never went to a Chinese restaurant again, even though there are a few where we live now.

Today, we decided to visit one very close to where we live. I was shocked that it had been many years since I had eaten one of my favorite foods—almost 11 years! Wow, time flies, so today was a moment to remember the good times and enjoy this food again.

This restaurant is called Vela Dorada. It's quite spacious and a very family-friendly place. Although there were hardly any people there today, most people had ordered takeout. We did the same; we preferred to order our food to go and enjoy it at home.

I ordered the usual: fried rice with chicken, pork, and shrimp, plus lumpia, and that order always comes with its own bread rolls. It's not really the healthiest thing to do right now, but once a year doesn't hurt. Plus, it had been so long since I'd had this kind of food that I wanted to give myself permission.

And you know what? This meal turned out to be a bit heavy now, since I've gotten used to eating less fat and with homemade, very natural food. Although it wasn't bad, my husband and I enjoyed it, we treated ourselves, and that's great 😁

Siempre los Domingos son días especiales para los cristianos, es un día en que nos reunimos para alabar a Dios y escuchar su Palabra, pero también es un momento en donde personalmente me gusta tomar un buen descanso, aún en la cocina, pues cocinar es algo que hago todos los días y lo disfruto, pero hoy quería solo llegar a casa y descansar.

Así que, pensando en todo, le comenté a mi esposo que me gustaría comprar alguna comida China para llevar a casa, realmente fue algo que se me ocurrió de repente.

Aquí en nuestro País es muy normal ver restaurantes Chinos en muchos lugares, podemos verlos tanto en barrios ricos como en barrios pobres, desde que tengo uso de razón la comida China tiene un lugar muy importante aquí en Venezuela.

Y yo crecí comiendo arroz frito con pollo y camarones, además de las lumpias que son mis preferidas con su salsa agridulce, recuerdo que en mi adolescencia tenía a un pretendiente y él siempre me iba a visitar y su regalo para mí era un pote de arroz Chino jajajaja, él sabía que ese tipo de comida me encantaba.

Y así he tenido muchas anécdotas e historias con la comida China, he visitado varios restaurantes, unos más lujosos que otros, en fin lo importante es que la comida se vea deliciosa.

Mi esposo y yo comíamos mucho esta comida, no solo porque nos gusta sino porque su precio es bastante razonable, pero nos mudamos y de repente más nunca fuimos a un restaurante Chino a pesar de que aquí en donde vivimos ahora, hay algunos.

Hoy decidimos visitar uno que queda muy cerca de donde vivimos, me impresioné que ya tenía muchos años sin comer una de mis comidas favoritas, ¡casi 11 años! wow el tiempo pasa muy de prisa, así que hoy fue un momento para recordar los buenos tiempos y degustar nuevamente de esta comida.

Este restaurant se llama Vela Dorada, es bastante espacioso y un lugar muy familiar, aunque hoy casi no había gente, la mayoría ha hecho su pedido para llevar, nosotros hicimos lo mismo, preferimos pedir nuestra comida para llevar y disfrutarla en casa.

Pedí lo de siempre, arroz Frito con Pollo, Cerdo y Camarones, además de Lumpias, y ese pedido siempre lleva sus respectivos pancitos, realmente en este momento no es lo más saludable, pero una vez al año no hace daño, además tenía tanto tiempo que no degustaba de este tipo de comida que quise darme ese permiso.

¿Y saben qué? esta comida ahora resultó ser un poco pesada, pues ya me acostumbré a comer con menos grasa y con comida casera y muy natural, aunque no estuvo mal, mi esposo y yo la disfrutamos, nos dimos un gusto y eso está genial 😁
