I am glad to be back in this community. This time, I want to show you my tomato plant and my harvest, but first, let me tell you the story from the beginning. The thing is, I didn't actually grow this plant. That is, I didn't intentionally plant the seeds. Although I had already prepared the space with soil enriched with compost, I hadn't planned on growing tomatoes, but rather basil and mint. However, the compost I prepared consisted of organic material, completely organic (kitchen waste such as fruit and vegetable peelings and, of course, seeds). However, while I was checking the mint plant to remove the dry leaves, I noticed that something interesting was sprouting from the soil, and after a few days I discovered that it was a tomato plant (perhaps there were some tomato seeds in the compost that germinated, fortunately 😃).
Obviously, I was very happy with this discovery, so I devoted myself to caring for it with great care. As I always do when I don't know something, I researched everything I could find on the internet about caring for plants, in this case tomatoes, so I watered it at the right times of day, and I also had to tie the plant with a string to keep it upright, because it tended to droop, perhaps because it was very heavy.
A few days later, I felt a great thrill when I realised that the plant was beginning to bear fruit. I had already seen some flowers on it, but they usually ended up wilting and falling off. However, on this occasion, something was sprouting from the flowers: small green bulbs that could only be tomatoes. Only two tiny tomatoes sprouted from the plant, but I didn't care. I continued to care for the plant with care and love, with the satisfaction of knowing that in the end I would get something as a result of my work and love for nature.
As the days passed, my tomatoes grew and became increasingly red. And yesterday, when I went to check on my tomatoes, at first I was alarmed because I didn't see them hanging from the plant, but it only took me a couple of seconds to see them there, on the floor of the pot, as red and beautiful as ever, so I picked them up excitedly and dared to wash them before putting them in the refrigerator.
With patience and dedication, even the impossible can be achieved. Some people are afraid to grow their own produce, perhaps because they think they are not good at it, but you will never discover how good you are at something if you don't try. You don't need a large plot of fertile land; all you need is a pot, even if it's improvised like mine (it's an old washing machine that no longer works), and of course you'll also need time, patience and a love of nature.
Thank you very much for allowing me once again to share with you a new harvest. Although it is modest, it makes me happy because it was the product of my care. Blessings to all, and I wish you much success and a wonderful weekend.
