¿Todo lo que se ve es verdad? / Is everything you see true? [Spa - Eng]

En una espléndida y clara noche del mes de agosto, estábamos María José - mi amiga de toda la vida - , sus nietas Rosa María y Ana María y yo sentadas en la emblemática plaza Miranda de nuestro pueblo donde emerge altiva y arrogante la estatua del precursor de la independencia, Don Francisco de Miranda, alzamos de pronto la mirada al cielo y observamos la luna clara y esplendorosa y en ella se estaban atravesando unas figuras, las cuales nos preguntamos ¿Brujas? ¿Zamuros?¿Ángeles? Dichas figuras daban esas formas de imágenes que parecían descender a la Tierra. Nos quedamos paralizadas por un instante ante tal espectáculo, sorprendidas de las mismas que daban sus movimientos. Se acercaban hacia nosotras. De tal hecho, en este tiempo de observación pudimos constatar que eran unas ramas del viejo árbol de mamón que cautelosamente hacían su movimiento y producían estas figuras. Por poquito nos venimos de la plaza corriendo. Era la jugada mágica del pensamiento. Para quienes sostienen la teoría de que todo lo que se ve es verdad, pues les cuento que este acontecimiento refuta la misma. 😁

On a splendid and clear night in the month of August, María José - my lifelong friend -, her granddaughters Rosa María and Ana María and I were sitting in the emblematic Plaza Miranda of our town where the statue of the precursor of independence, Don Francisco de Miranda, emerges haughty and arrogant. We suddenly raised our gaze to the sky and observed the clear and splendorous moon and some figures were passing through it, which we asked ourselves: Witches? Vultures? Angels? These figures gave those forms of images that seemed to descend to the Earth. We were paralyzed for a moment before such a spectacle, surprised by the movements they made. They were approaching us. In fact, during this time of observation we were able to verify that they were branches of the old mamón tree that cautiously made their movement and produced these figures. We almost came running from the square. It was the magic trick of thought. For those who hold the theory that everything you see is true, well, I tell you that this event refutes it.
