Greetings to everyone in the Daily Blog community! Today I'm joining you here to share another day with you. This time, it's my visit to the Sidor Art Gallery, a space for artistic events held in Ciudad Guayana and owned by Sidor. The space was used there for an exhibition by the Fine Arts students of the National Experimental University of Arts (UNEARTE) in Bolívar. The gallery opened on July 29th and was open until August 9th of this year. Luckily for me, I had been able to visit the exhibition on that last day, where the artists' works would be on display, so here are some of them.
As I've mentioned on other occasions, in Ciudad Guayana and in Puerto Ordaz in general (which is the most active area and where it makes the most sense to have more spaces for artistic activities), there are few places to enjoy art, since this Art Gallery is practically the only building where exhibitions (and other events) can be presented in a "more formal" manner or that has the ideal space for it. However, despite the fact that this space is available, it isn't always available. I don't know the reasons why, as the reasons could be multifactorial. In any case, whenever the opportunity to visit an art exhibition arises, many citizens flock to see it.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Daily Blog! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes una nuevo día. En esta oportunidad se trata de mi visita a la Sala de Arte de Sidor, un espacio para los eventos artísticos que se dan en Ciudad Guayana y que pertenece a la empresa Sidor. Allí se prestó el lugar para la exposición de los estudiantes de Artes Plásticas de la Universidad Nacional Experimental de Arte las Artes (UNEARTE) de Bolívar. El mismo fue aperturado el día 29 de Julio y estaría disponible hasta el 9 de Agosto de este mismo año. Para mí suerte, yo había llegado a visitar la exposición justo ese último día donde estarían las obras de los artistas,así que aquí les presento algunas de ellas.Como he comentado en otras oportunidades, en Ciudad Guayana y en general en Puerto Ordaz (que es la zona más activa y que tiene más sentido que existan más espacios para las actividades artísticas), existen pocos lugares para disfrutar del arte, ya que esta Sala de Arte es prácticamente el único edifico dónde se pueden presentar exposiciones (y otros eventos) de forma "más formal" o que cuenta con el espacio ideal para ello. Sin embargo, a pesar de que se cuenta con ese espacio, no siempre está disponible. Desconozco los motivos del porque, pues las razones pueden ser multifactoriales. En todo caso, cada qu se presenta la oportunidad de visitar una exposición de arte, muchos ciudadanos acuden a verla.
When I arrived at the venue, I noticed a lot of people there, and later I learned it was a meeting of the Guayana Symphony Orchestra, who were holding an event (I couldn't understand what). Although this has no relation to the UNEARTE students' exhibition. Let's focus on that now. It seems that the motive behind the paintings and some of the art installations was to create works that were a reference to a particular artist. Not exactly a reproduction, but rather a creation of their own with direct influences from that artist. As you can see, there are works by Piet Mondrian, Edvard Munch, Vincent van Gogh, Johannes Vermeer, and Monet. The artists worked with different techniques, among which pointillism caught my attention in several of the works presented.
There were also ceramic works, although the vast majority of the works were pictorial. It seems that the works were distributed among different areas of study or subjects taught at UNEARTE. I noticed an admiration for Van Gogh, who is the reference for at least four artists. It's good to know that the artists have found a place where they can exhibit their work and bring life to the city of Puerto Ordaz, which my city sorely needs this type of artistic exhibition. It was a busy Saturday, and I have some hope that the fact that so many artists and spectators are interested in showing and seeing these types of events will motivate the relevant authorities to give it visibility and a suitable space for it (with all that entails). Cuando llegué al lugar noté que habían muchas personas y luego me enteré que era una reunión de la Sinfónica de Guayana quienes celebraban un evento (no pude entender el que). Aunque esto no tiene relación con la exposición de los chicos de la UNEARTE. Ahora nos centramos en ello. Tal parece que el motivo detrás de las pinturas y algunas instalaciones artísticas, tenía que ver con realizar obras que fueran referencia de algún artista en particular. No exactamente una reproducción sino una creación propia con influencias directas de un artista. Tal y cómo podrán ver se encuentra Piet Mondrian, Edvard Munch, Vincent van Gogh, Johannes Vermeer, Marcel Duchamp y un Monet. Los artistas trabajaron con distintas técnicas, de las cuales me llamo la atención el puntillismo en varias obras presentadas. También habían figurativas y otra cercanas a la abstracciónTambién habían trabajos de cerámica, aunque la gran mayoría de obras eran pictoricas. Tal parece que las obras se distribuían en distintas áreas de estudio o materias impartidas en la UNEARTE. He notado que existe una admiración por Van Gogh, siendo el referente para al menos unos cuatro artistas. Es bueno saber que los artistas han encontrado un lugar dónde pueden exhibir sus trabajos y dar vida a la Ciudad de Puerto Ordaz, que bien que le hace falta a mi ciudad este tipo de muestras artísticas. Fue un sábado bastante movido y tengo cierta esperanza en que el hecho de que muchos artistas y espectadores se muestren interesados en mostrar y ver este tipo de eventos , motiven a las autoridades pertinentes a darle visibilidad y un espacio adecuado para ello (con todo lo que eso significa).
