Greetings to everyone in the Top Family community! Today I'm joining you here to participate in the TBT Thursday contest with a new photo and anecdote. I'll be leaving the contest link at the end of the post. Let's get started.
Today's photo is from 2025, when I visited Valencia to see my mom, who is one of the most important people in my life. Even though we don't live close, from one pole to the other (we live in different states), we always try to stay in touch and share some of what's happening in our lives. Of course, I think many of us will agree that often both parties (mother and son) try not to communicate too many things (problems) that might worry the other. I think the initial intention is good, but it can actually turn out to be a bad thing because one doesn't acknowledge situations that need attention and resolution.

Comencemos.La fotografía del día de hoy pertenece a este año 2025, cuando visité Valencia para ver a mi mamá, quién es una de las personas más importantes en mi vida. A pesar de que no vivimos cerca, de un polo a otro (vivimos en Estados diferentes), siempre intentamos estar comunicadas y hacernos saber parte de lo que va sucediendo en nuestras vidas. Por supuesto, yo creo que varios vamos a estar de acuerdo en que muchas veces ambas partes (madre e hijo) intentamos no comunicar demasiadas cosas (problemas) que puedan preocupar al otro. Creo que la intención inicial es buena pero realmente puede llegar a ser algo malo porque uno no se da por enterado de situaciones que necesitan atención y resolución.
That's how, through those conversations, I finally learned that my mom wasn't feeling very well. She had certain ailments in her legs and other symptoms that weren't letting her live her life peacefully. As a result, I rushed to Valencia to see my mom. The whole family was happy to be reunited, but the first thing I had in mind was to take my mom to the doctors. Today's photo is of us sitting in the waiting room. At that moment, we were very nervous, but still optimistic about the situation. To our delight, after so many doctor visits and tests, we were able to determine that my mom's condition was treatable, and diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart problems were ruled out. That was a huge relief.
Her little face relaxed, and we celebrated with a delicious meal at home. I'll have to see her for her checkup soon, and I'm excited about it. This photo reminds me how much our parents need us, especially when they begin to reach a certain age. Sometimes they don't say it, but we all need attention, love, and recognition. Así fue cómo entre esas conversaciones, por fin pude saber que mi mamá no se encontraba muy bien. Que tenía ciertas dolencias en sus piernas y otros síntomas que no la dejaban hacer su vida con tranquilidad. A raíz de eso me fui corriendo a Valencia a ver a mi mamá. Toda la familia feliz de reencontrarnos, pero lo primero que tenía en mente era llevar a mi mamá a los doctores. La fotografía de hoy es de nosotras sentadas en la sala de espera del consultorio. Para ese momento teníamos muchos nervios, pero aún así con optimimos sobre la situación. Para nuestra alegría, luego de tantas visitas al doctor y tantos exámenes, pudimos encontrar que lo que tenía mi mamá era tratable y se descartó la diabetes, la tensión y problemas cardíacos. Eso fue un gran alivio.Su carita se relajó y lo celebramos con una rica comida en casa. Dentro de poco debo ir a verla para su chequeo y eso me entusiasma. Esta fotografía me recuerda lo mucho que nuestros papás nos pueden necesitar, sobre todo cuando comienzan a entrar a cierta edad. A veces no lo dicen, pero todos necesitamos atención, amor y reconocimiento. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
