Greetings to everyone in the Family & Friends community! Today I'm joining you here to share another family moment with you. And for me, family is an important pillar, and that's why I traveled from Puerto Ordaz to Valencia with the intention of caring for my mother and seeing my relatives. The days of my visit are coming to an end, and although I had decided to stay a little longer (a few more days) to take care of some things with my family (like my mom's health), unfortunately, I can't stay long enough due to work. However, this also means good news, so even though we won't see each other for a long time, they are happy for me. All in good time.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Family & Friends! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo momento en familia. Y para mí, la familia es un pilar importante y por ello viaje de Puerto Ordaz a Valencia, con la intención de atender a mi madre y ver a mis familiares. Los días de mi visita están llegando a su final y aunque había decidido estar un poco más de tiempo (algunos días más) para solventar algunas cosas con mi familia (cómo la salud de mi mamá), lamentablemente no puedo quedarme lo suficiente por cuestiones de trabajo. Sin embargo, eso también significan buenas noticias por lo que a pesar de que no nos veremos en mucho tiempo, ellos se encuentran felices por mi. Todo a su tiempo.
So, in the days leading up to the trip, we stopped by to say goodbye to my uncles at their house. It was also my grandmother's old house, where I grew up. It feels a little strange there because I feel like time has passed and not passed at the same time, because it wasn't until a long time ago that I walked through that space. Well, the point is that we arrived early at my uncles' house, and one of my cousins on my cousin's side and her husband were there. By the way, I hadn't seen them in years. Our uncles were waiting for us with a delicious lunch of Creole Chinese rice, and we sat down to eat and share the latest news from the trip with my mom and my cousins. It makes me laugh because as one gets older, some contacts of doctors are shared among the family, which have turned out to be good and will surely be useful to the other members.
Así que en estos días previos, pasamos a despedirnos de mis tíos a su casa. La cual era también la antigua casa de mi abuela, lugar donde me crié. Allí se siente un poco extraño porque siento que el tiempo pasó y no pasó al mismo tiempo, porque no fue hasta hace mucho que yo recorría ese espacio. Bueno, el punto es que llegamos temprano a casa de mis tíos y estaba uno de mis primos por parte de mi prima y el esposo de ella. Que por cierto tenia años sin ver. Nuestros tíos nos esperaban con un rico almuerzo de arroz chino criollo y nos sentamos a comer y a contar las últimas novedades del viaje, mi mamá y mis primas. Me da risa porque conforme uno se vuelve mayor, se comparte entre la familia algunos contactos de médicos que han resultado ser buenos y que seguramente serán útiles para los demás miembros.
That's how my mom found two doctors who treated her quite well, and I even found a doctor I urgently needed for a reason I'll discuss another time. Anyway, there we were, my mom, my uncles, and I, exchanging numbers and looking for the best doctors; good, nice, and "cheap" (the latter always being the least reliable of all). As time passed, we had to leave to do some things we had committed to that afternoon, so we said our goodbyes and took some pictures. Last time it was a sad goodbye, but this time it was a happy one, filled with optimism and satisfaction for the present and the future, and that means a lot to me. Así es cómo mi mamá fue a dar con dos doctoras que la atendieron bastante bien y hasta yo di con una doctora que necesitaba urgentemente por una cuestión que trataré en otro momento. Pero bueno allí estábamos mi mamá, mis tíos y yo, intercambiando números y buscando a los mejores doctores; bueno, bonito y "barato" (este último siendo siempre el menos cierto de todos). Ya pasado el tiempo debíamos partir para hacer algunas cosas en las que nos habíamos comprometido en la tarde, así que nos despedimos y tomamos algunas fotografías. La última vez fue una despedida triste, pero esta vez fue una despedida feliz, como llena de optimimos y satisfacción por el presente y lo que viene en el futuro y eso significa mucho para mí.
