Got a bit busy doing investing stuff and affiliate marketing stuff in the morning. Decided to take train up two stations to walk Sheldon Forest to check on bootlace orchids
Explosion of spring garden flowers - azaleas and clivia
Zoom in on the clivia
Scout hall at the top of the track
Hard to tell if the hypericum belongs here or escaped from the gardens above
The white fingers orchids still going - a very hard flower to photograph. Looked at every one to look for differences - this one is all white with the green column
Zoomed in - this one has the yellow tip
And this one is pink flowered with a smaller touch of yellow - caladenia catenata all
This one has more touches of pink - the point at the top and alongside the calli
A two part photo - hypericum in focus and caladenia catenata out of focus
A critter has been digging around the base of the bootlace orchid - looks like an animal dig rather than a spade - hoping the plant survives. There are at least a few rooted
Got a few weeks before this opens - will check next week again
Lomandra emerging
Big cluster of bonnet orchid leaves - no flower spikes yet
Dropped down into the rain forest. Had seen orchids budding two seasons back. Fern for my primary school friend - Robyn loved ferns - RIP
Amazing photo - two huge trees growing on the top of this rock with roots twisted around the rock to the earth below. Going to be a big bang when they go down
Pea flower - new for the season
A flash of yellow - not seen it before - looked it up. Yellow rush lily
Patersonia iris
Hibbertia
Hakea across the track
A flash of yellow looking like a dampiera - same structure - had to look it up - a goodenia
Slender rice flower
Australian grass tree in the middle of the track
Signage - I have come down from the Sheldon Forest end. The path to right goes back to the road I came in. And Troon place is where I am going.
Trigger flower budding - the bottom flower wanted to grab the light
Two orchid leaves in shot - greenhood and acianthus
Back into the Pymble streets - azalea time for spring
A pincushion - member of protea family - probably from South Africa
Blossom explosion
A cascade of azalea colour
Nothing says spring more than a wisteria waterfall
View over the top of Pymble station. Good to make a progress walk and to get one orchid. Will not walk the lower section again. It is quiet - it is hard on the legs - no orchids.
Dinner: Friday pizza - no photos
