Had an idea for the day drive down to wine storage to pick up some wine for the weekend celebrations - an anniversary and a birthday. The big idea was to drive to West Head to look for orchids. Traffic was slow - stopped at the top end of Ku-ring Gai Chase to see what I could find
Fab rocks under the powerlines - no orchids
Plenty of spring colour - pink, yellow and white
Kunzea are starting to show - a star burst of purple
Pea flower - photos not up to standard - macro phone not charged enough
Darwinia - took a while to get focus in the wind
Walked down to Centre Trail which runs along the top of the ridge before dropping down to the creek. Not walked this before - have done the next one down that accesses the powerlines
Did find an orchid flowering at the start of the track - copper bearded orchid - calochilus campestris. As good a photo as I could get with this phone

A well known number plate parked in front - a fellow orchid hunter. Was doing the tracker thing on my track - not walked the way I went and I was gone before he got back
Got to chalk down a win - a find on a track not walked plus two buds.
Did cook dinner - BBQ Portuguese chicken plus mash for mu wife and BBQ potatoes and salad for me
