The morning drifted away - not doing nothing but catching up on a big week of investing accounting. Before I knew the available train to train - bike - walk was 1pm. Not a lot of time to walk and get back on the train before the school kids become a problem

The mission was to look for hyacinth orchids I saw budding last time and see if there were any flying ducks. View across the Hawkesbury River - what caught my eye was the new life on the tree in centre frame

What was 4 orchid spikes last time us now 5. The bad news is all 5 have been chomped off. My friend tells me the wallabies like them. And it was probably pre-flowering which would be of no interest to humans. Humans do like picking the flowers when they are open

Grey spider grevillea - my friend calls them woolly. A good name

Yesterday I shared a flower with the same shape as this but with wider leaves. I do know this is narrow-leafed hemigenia

A grand scribbly gum - no snake orchids evident

Did find a flying duck orchid in a spot earlier than seen before. This one is a bit drilled by bugs

Red spider grevillea. Was tossing around in my head doing a slower more detailed walk and then cycling all the way back. Decided I did not want to deal with Friday school traffic through the busy parts

Decided to get back to the train and not do side trips. Hibbertia on the way

Stopped for a leak behind a big tree off track - right there were a few bearded orchids - now seeded. A shorter walk for next season as I know here they are

I know about this one - calochilus robertsonii

Your superhero did sport his new haircut for a selfie at Berowra Station. Was way cooler and less weight on the neck

The train part was a bit of a mystery tour. The boards had shown two trains going my way - but only one train on the platform. Got on that - the board says via Gordon. Good. The train guard announces via Strathfield - not good. Stay put - can always get out and ride from Hornsby. As it happens the boards were right and the train home had no kids

Ride done - been a low month for Kids Cancer but I have done lots of steps. Why? Am walking the 7 Bridges on Sunday for Cancer Council NSW in memory of my niece who died with breast cancer a little while back
You can help out - donate here https://mclnks.com/7bridges OR send some HIVE or HBD with 7Bridges as the memo - I will get the cash to the charity
Walked up to shops late - sufar needed for apple tart for my brother-in-law. His birthday yesterday

Did cook macaroni cheese for dinner - it uses a lot of old cheese.
Did get a photo of my granddaughter - now 4 months old Edit: Deleted the photo - family rules
