You have earned the money to buy a house and you have two options. The first is a big and beautiful house, but whose best times are over. It needs a lot of repairs and renovations, so the price is low. The second option is a small house. It's not as nice as the first one, but you don't have to invest time and money in repairs, so the price is much higher. Which do you choose - are you on the ‘repair to my taste’ team or the ‘buy everything ready and fast’ team?

This question makes me think about really knowing the value of things, as our friend reflects in her question: “Have you earned the money to buy a house”, I mean to take into account the cost of owning a house, as it has always been for most people who live with their parents or who have often had to live in rented accommodation, a great challenge or a goal, because time passes very quickly, especially every time the rent payment is due, affecting the ability to save for that investment.

The project of owning my own home

When I decided to form a home, I remember that with my partner we made a project to work on building our house, when we formed a team, the first thing we got was the land, the materials, to make the structure of the columns, the walls, a sketch or map to lay out the work. I remember that some people told us that this was impossible to do in a short time, that it would take us too many years to do it, that we didn't have the experience, that our jobs wouldn't allow us the time and freedom to do them, and so on. Of course the work was hard and not without its drawbacks, but we focused on that project. The fact was that it took us five years to make that dream come true: to have our own house.

A springboard as an investment

With all that great experience with my previous home, which we lived in for twelve years, although it was bigger and more spacious, it was built and designed to our taste, as well as being a springboard as an investment after we sold it. I can also say that all those remodeling jobs are equivalent to making a new house and of course it is not easy, I even hired a person to take care of the cleaning, my job at that time allowed me to pay that lady, at the same time I felt that I was generating employment and I have always liked to have my home as a silver cup. 

I am ofthe team buy everything ready and fast

Now, this memory or stage of my life influenced my decision together with my daughter in the purchase of our new home, as I have expressed in other publications, it has been ten months since we moved, to a flat that was ready to move into, the only thing we did was to paint, clean and decorate with our furniture and belongings. So, my answer would be that I am a buy everything ready and fast kind of guy, because even though my current house is not that big, it is comfortable to clean, it adapts to our needs, with the decoration we choose, it gives it that ambience where we are always looking to transform every space to improve the aesthetics and comfort, reflecting our lifestyle and personality.

Inspiration on new trends

I particularly like to look for inspiration on new trends, as well as according to our budget to incorporate current elements in my home, because a good design can improve my comfort, relaxation and influence my mood. I think that the things we do have true value when they are done with love, my wish to all those people who think about having their own roof, who are working to make it possible, either to become independent or to form a home, it is key to fill us first of all with faith, positive mind, recognizing that with work, effort and dedication we can, because we will never have what we want, if we do not fight to get it. It is now, in the present, trusting in the importance of having the attitude of believing in myself, for example, not listening to negative comments, often with the intention of affecting my self-esteem, I must overcome fear to have the ability to create new things and enjoy our home, because we deserve it. Saludos amigas de la comunidad #LadiesofHive, con la edición que nos traen esta semana, donde nos invitan a reflexionar con una de las preguntas de nuestra querida @irenenavarroart, aquí les dejo mi participación:

Has ganado el dinero para comprar una casa y tienes dos opciones. La primera es una casa grande y bonita, pero cuyas mejores épocas ya pasaron. Necesita muchas reparaciones y remodelaciones, por lo que su precio es bajo. La segunda opción es una casa pequeña. No es tan bonita como la anterior, pero no tienes que invertir tiempo ni dinero en reparaciones, así que su precio es mucho más alto. ¿Qué eliges? ¿Eres del equipo de "reparar a mi gusto" o del equipo de "comprar todo listo y rápido"?

Esta pregunta me hace reflexionar sobre conocer realmente el valor de las cosas, como refleja nuestra amiga en su pregunta: «Has ganado el dinero para comprarte una casa», me refiero a tener en cuenta el coste de tener una casa, como siempre ha sido para la mayoría de las personas que viven con sus padres o que muchas veces hemos tenido que vivir de alquiler, es un gran reto o una meta, porque el tiempo pasa muy rápido, sobre todo cada vez que hay que pagar el arriendo, afectando la capacidad de ahorro para esa inversión.

El proyecto de tener casa propia

Cuando decidí formar un hogar, recuerdo que con quien fuera mi pareja hicimos el proyecto de trabajar en construir nuestra vivienda, al formar un equipo, lo primero que conseguimos fue el terreno, los materiales, realizar la estructura de las columnas, las paredes, un croquis o mapa para replantear la obra. Recuerdo que algunas personas nos dijeron que eso era como imposible de realizar en poco tiempo, que nos tomaríamos demasiados años en hacerlo, que no teníamos la experiencia, que nuestros trabajos no nos permitiría dedicar el tiempo y la libertad para lograrlos, etc. Por supuesto que el trabajo fue duro y no estuvo libre de inconvenientes, pero nos enfocamos en ese proyecto. EI caso fue que nos llevó cinco años hacer realidad ese sueño: Tener nuestra propia casa.

Un trampolín como inversión

Con toda esa gran experiencia con mi anterior vivienda, en la cual vivimos durante doce años, aunque era más grande y espaciosa, fue construida y diseñada a nuestro gusto, así como también fue un trampolín como inversión después de venderla. También puedo decir que todos esos trabajos de remodelaciones equivale hacer una casa nueva y por supuesto que no es fácil, incluso contrataba a una persona para que se encargara de la limpieza, mi trabajo en ese momento me permitía pagar a esa señora, a la vez que sentía que estaba generando empleo y siempre me ha gustado tener mi hogar como una tacita de plata. 

Soy del equipo de comprar todo listo y rápido

Ahora bien, este recuerdo o etapa de mi vida influyó en la decisión junto con mi hija en la compra de nuestra nueva casa, como lo he expresado en otras publicaciones, ya hace diez meses que nos mudamos, a un apartamento que estaba ya listo para mudarnos, lo único que hicimos fue pintar, limpiar y decorar con nuestros muebles y enseres. Entonces mi respuesta sería de que soy del equipo de comprar todo listo y rápido, porque aun cuando mi casa actual no es tan grande, es cómoda para limpiar, se adapta a nuestras necesidades, con la decoración que elegimos, le da ese ambiente donde buscamos siempre transformar cada espacio para mejorar la estética y comodidad, reflejando nuestro estilo de vida y personalidad.

Inspiración sobre nuevas tendencias

En particular me gusta buscar inspiración sobre nuevas tendencias, así como también de acuerdo a nuestro presupuesto incorporar elementos actuales en mi hogar, pues un buen diseño puede mejorar mi comodidad, relajación e influir en mi estado de ánimo. Pienso que las cosas que hacemos tienen el verdadero valor cuando se hacen con amor, mi deseo a todas esas personas que piensan en tener su propio techo, que están trabajando para hacerlo posible, ya sea para independizarse o formar un hogar, es clave llenarnos primeramente de fe, mente positiva, reconocer que con trabajo, esfuerzo y dedicación sí se puede, porque nunca tendremos lo que queremos, si no luchamos por obtenerlo. Es ahora, en el presente confiando en lo importante de tener la actitud de creer en mí misma, por ejemplo, el no escuchar comentarios negativos, muchas veces con la intención de afectar mi autoestima, debo vencer el miedo para tener la capacidad de crear cosas nuevas y disfrutar de nuestro hogar, porque lo merecemos.
