Hi I am the mother of a kid with cerebral palsy. It is a condition where some parts of the brain are damaged and cause them delays in over all aspects especially in motor skills.
My warrior kid's name is Prince Mehir- God's gift, he is such a promising child that really touches our life in his own little way. He is the center of our eyes and we pour our love out to him since he's special, a very special one. As a warrior mom, I find it hard at first for so many reasons but I believe that acceptance is the key in pursuing life and to live life the fullest.

Mehir- as many often call him is already 4 years old .
He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was 7 months old by a developmental pediatrician. Many procedures and check ups were made to testify doctor's opinion. First, we're ask for EEG or Electroencephalogram where it records brain electrical activity. In the result, it is stated there the unusual or the abnormal activity in his brain especially in the right side that made them push through another brain procedure.

The next thing to do was the MRI or the Magnetic Reasonance Imaging of the brain. This procedure visualizes the brain structure, detects abnormalities, and assesses the impacts of various conditions of the brain. It took 2 weeks for the results to be in our hand. After that, it was sadly confirmed he is a cerebral palsy kid. The doctor told me that it is not curable but treatable thru different kinds of therapy (physical, occupational and speech) and also he needs maintenance for spasticity and seizure. We did not waste our time during this tough journey, together with my partner we visited the therapy center. We enrolled Mehir to Happy Hands Pediatric and Adult Therapy Center a private entity that cater kids with disability. It was a roller coaster ride for us since the therapy itself is very expensive. Not to mention the premium milk and his maintenance turn our pockets dry. After 1 year of therapy, we stopped. We can no longer pay the bill in the center. At home, we do our best to at least exercise him and copy some of the reflexes that the center perform.

Fast forward just this year someone introduced us to a public therapy center and now he is back to therapy. As a warrior mom, every little improvement counts. Right now Mehir can understand and talk some words. His motor skills are the ones being focused now by the head therapist.
As a warrior mom, my task is not easy like it is an every day routine but I just want to tell everyone all over the world I may get tired, I cried and screamed but I won't give up. I love my kid so much and I accept him. He is my life and everything. So for everyone who has a child like mine "never give up" they need us. They need someone who loves them unconditionally and only a parent can give that kind of love. Let's pray to God for a longer life so we can take care of our loved ones like Mehir.
Let's embrace what we have warrior moms.
