I woke up early today to go renew my ID card—it had expired.
I got dressed, did my hair, and even put on a subtle bit of makeup, since it can’t be too noticeable in the photo. Then I headed out to the place, where quite a few people were already waiting outside.
It’s common knowledge that the Venezuelan sun isn’t exactly gentle, and by 8 a.m. it was already burning my forehead and the back of my neck.
Three hours into the line, they announced the system had crashed, and they had no idea when it would be back. So I couldn’t renew anything
I took these photos on my way back, after wasting my morning and letting the sun roast my skin and make me sweat. Honestly, it’s hard to be on Team Heat unless pools or beaches are involved. But I guess you have to look on the bright side: at least I went for a walk.

Hoy me desperté temprano para ir a renovar mi cédula de identidad, pues se venció.
Me vestí, peiné e incluso me hice un maquillaje sutil, pues no puede ser muy notorio en la foto de la identificación. Y tomé camino hasta el lugar, donde ya había bastante gente esperando fuera.
Es bien sabido que el sol en Venezuela no suele ser muy gentil, y desde las 8 a. m. ya estaba quemándome la frente y la nuca.
Tres horas después de estar en la fila, dijeron que se había caído el sistema y que no sabían a qué hora regresaría. Asi que no pude renovar nada.
Estas fotos me las tomé cuando venía de regreso, después de perder la mañana y que el sol quemara mi piel y me hiciera sudar. Definitivamente, es difícil ser Team calor si no hay piscinas o playas involucradas. Pero supongo que uno debe ver el lado bueno a todo: al menos paseé.
