The magic of the Turnera (part 1)

I've seen this flower in more than one place and it caught my attention so much that I couldn't help but capture it in photographs. It is so strange, so I did some research on it. It's called Turnera ulmifolia. It is beautiful, but all the time I saw it half closed.

Until I discovered that it later opened its petals wide open to the sun, and then it was explained to me that this is precisely why it has the popular name: “Eight o'clock flower” or “eight o'clock flower”. It blooms every morning, around 8 o'clock in the morning, before the sunlight, showing its white petals with their yellow and purple center, and later in the day they close again.

Quite a divine curiosity to explore photographically, I had never encountered such a phenomenon. It is so beautiful that I could not stop taking so many pictures of it. I hope you enjoy it too.

La magia de la Turnera (parte 1)

He visto esta flor en más de un lugar y me ha llamado tanto la atención que no podía dejar de capturar en fotografías. Es tan extraña, así que investigué sobre ella. Se llama Turnera ulmifolia. Es hermosa, pero todo el rato la veía media cerrada.

Hasta que descubrí que más tarde abrió sus pétalos de par en par directos al sol, y entonces me explicaron que precisamente por eso es el nombre popular que tiene: "Flor de las ocho" o "Flor de ocho relojes". Florece cada mañana, sobre las 8 de la mañana, ante la luz del sol, mostrando sus pétalos blancos con su centro amarillo y morado, y más tarde en el día vuelven a cerrar.
