 Cabe destacar que en nuestro país Venezuela, estamos viviendo un proceso que no es nada democrático, sino lo contrario, ya que el que protesta o no está de acuerdo con las injusticia que aplica el gobierno es catalogado como una persona terrorista y es detenido y puesto a la orden de la justicia, por solo reclamar los derechos. Recientemente en una reunión que tuvimos todos los profesionales que laboramos para un organismos del Ministerio de Educación, una persona representante del sindicato nos informó que no teníamos jubilación.
It should be noted that in our country, Venezuela, we are experiencing a process that is anything but democratic. On the contrary, anyone who protests or disagrees with the injustices perpetrated by the government is labelled a terrorist and arrested and brought to justice, simply for demanding their rights. Recently, at a meeting attended by all the professionals who work for an agency of the Ministry of Education, a representative of the trade union informed us that we would not be receiving a pension.
Imagínense ustedes después que ya tenemos casi 20 años, y somos un organismo adcrito a este ministerio, sin hacemos reclamos, estamos en peligro de ser encarcelado por estar en contra del gobierno. Uno de los acontecimientos que considero que es histórico es lo que sucedió en las elecciones del mes de julio del 2024, donde una gran cantidad de personas salieron a votar en contra del gobierno actual, y cuando dieron los resultados resulta que el organismo electoral dió como ganador al mismo presidente, dejando una gran injusticia por todos aquellos venezolanos que queríamos un cambio.
Imagine that after almost 20 years, and as an organisation attached to this ministry, without making any demands, we are in danger of being imprisoned for opposing the government. One of the events that I consider historic is what happened in the July 2024 elections, where a large number of people came out to vote against the current government, and when the results were announced, the electoral body declared the same president the winner, leaving a great injustice for all those Venezuelans who wanted change.
A pesar de que la gran mayoría de las personas no estuvimos de acuerdo con los resultados, y otros países también se pronunciaron, igual el presidente, se proclamó ganador, el candidato de la oposición, tuvo que irse fuera del país para evitar ser encarcelado, es impresionante la cantidad de venezolanos que están detenidos por el solo hecho de no estar con ellos, la situacion del país es insostenible, con una alta inflación, de verdad que deseo que haya un cambio.
Although the vast majority of us disagreed with the results, and other countries also spoke out, the president still proclaimed himself the winner, and the opposition candidate had to leave the country to avoid being imprisoned. It is shocking how many Venezuelans are being detained simply for not supporting them. The situation in the country is unsustainable, with high inflation. I truly hope that there will be a change.
