Doodling Splinterlands: Time Blended | We can all do Zentangle [Eng-Esp]

Zentangle is much simpler and more relaxing than many people think. You don't need to be a professional artist or have extensive drawing experience to enjoy this technique. What I like most about zentangle is that anyone can do it: children, adults, people who have never drawn before, and even those who believe they have no artistic talent.  You don't need to invest a lot to practice the Zentangle technique. All you need is a pencil or pen (I prefer a gel pen so my arm doesn't get tired), a sheet of paper, and a willingness to let yourself be carried away by the lines. In this new doodle I made, inspired by the Splinterlands Time Mage card, what caught my eye most about the design was a clock with golden hands that he holds in his hands. That clock became the central element of my work, and from there, I added basic Zentangle strokes and patterns. I wanted to make spirals that devour everything, even the clock itself. The beauty of this technique is that there is no perfect pattern or unique way to do it. Zentangle is based on creating small repetitive designs that gradually fill the space. You can combine straight lines, curves, dots, spirals, geometric shapes, or whatever comes to mind. The key is to divide your sheet into sections and place a different pattern in each one. That way, even if they are simple and completely different strokes, they fit together so that the final result looks like a complex and detailed work. This time I added a little color since the original card has a lot of purple. I started by drawing the outline of the clock in the corner of the sheet, using a compass to help me. Then I surrounded it with a circular frame to make it stand out. Next, I divided the background into several circular areas to make the spirals, as if they were fragments of a mosaic. In each area, I started working with a different stroke: in one, I drew parallel lines, in others I made zigzag shapes, squares, dots, and so on until I covered everything. I didn't worry about perfection, because the magic of Zentangle lies precisely in the fact that small "mistakes" give the drawing personality and life. This is my doodle. As I was doing it, I noticed something that always happens to me when I draw zentangles: my mind calms down. It's as if with each stroke my breathing becomes calmer and I focus only on the present moment. This makes it perfect for those looking for a stress-relieving activity or a way to disconnect from their daily routine. Plus, it's very satisfying to see how a drawing that started with a few simple lines turns into something elaborate and harmonious. Another advantage is that Zentangle doesn't take much time. You can spend just a few minutes a day adding patterns little by little, or immerse yourself for hours if you feel like it. It doesn't matter if your style is minimalist or very detailed; in the end, the result will be unique and totally yours. By using the clock as the central element, I felt that my drawing also conveyed a personal message. The clock reminds me that time is precious and that, although we can't stop it, we can decide how we spend it. Drawing, creating, and relaxing with a zentangle is a beautiful way to give ourselves a moment of peace in our day. If you've never done zentangle before, I encourage you to give it a try. Start with something simple: draw a square, divide it into sections, and try basic patterns such as wavy lines, dots, or spirals. Don't think about whether it will look pretty or ugly; don't label it. Focus on the process, the feel of the pencil on the paper, and how your hand flows. Hacer zentangle es mucho más sencillo y relajante de lo que muchos piensan. No hace falta ser un artista profesional ni tener una gran experiencia dibujando para disfrutar de esta técnica. Lo que más me gusta del zentangle es que cualquiera puede hacerlo: niños, adultos, personas que nunca han dibujado y hasta aquellos que creen que “no tienen pulso” para el arte.  No se requiere una gran inversión para practicar la técnica del Zentangle. Lo único que necesitamos es un lápiz o bolígrafo, prefiero el bolígrafo de gel para no agotar tanto mi brazo, una hoja de papel y la disposición de dejarnos llevar por los trazos.  En este nuevo garabato que hice, inspirado en la carta del juego Splinterlands Time Mage, lo que más me atrapó de su diseño fue un reloj de agujas doradas que sostiene entre sus manos. Ese reloj se convirtió en el elemento central de mi trabajo, y a partir de ahí, fui añadiendo trazos y patrones básicos propios del zentangle. Quise hacer como espirales que se devoran todo el tiempo, incluso el mismo reloj.  Lo bonito de esta técnica es que no existe un patrón perfecto ni una manera única de hacerlo. El zentangle se basa en crear pequeños diseños repetitivos que, poco a poco, van llenando el espacio. Puedes combinar líneas rectas, curvas, puntos, espirales, formas geométricas o lo que se te ocurra. La clave está en dividir tu hoja en secciones y, en cada una, colocar un patrón diferente. De esa forma, aunque sean trazos simples y totalmente diferentes, se acoplan para que el resultado final parezca una obra compleja y llena de detalles. Esta vez agregué un poco de color ya que la carta original tiene mucho color violeta. Comencé dibujando el contorno del reloj en la esquina de la hoja, me ayudé con el compás. Después, lo rodeé con un marco circular para que quedara bien destacado. Luego, dividí el fondo en varias áreas circulares para hacer los espirales, como si fueran fragmentos de un mosaico. En cada área empecé a trabajar con un trazo distinto: en una, dibujé líneas paralelas, en otras hice formas en zigzag, cuadrados, puntos; y así hasta cubrirlo todo. No me preocupé por la perfección, porque justamente la magia del zentangle está en que los pequeños “errores” le dan personalidad y vida al dibujo. Este es mi garabato. ||| |-|-| Mientras lo hacía, noté algo que siempre me pasa cuando dibujo zentangle: mi mente se va calmando. Es como si con cada trazo mi respiración se volviera más tranquila y me concentrara solo en el momento presente. Esto lo hace perfecto para quienes buscan una actividad antiestrés o una manera de desconectarse de la rutina diaria. Además, es muy satisfactorio ver cómo un dibujo que empezó con unas cuantas líneas simples se convierte en algo elaborado y armónico.  Otra ventaja es que el zentangle no exige mucho tiempo. Puedes dedicarle solo unos minutos al día, añadiendo patrones poco a poco, o sumergirte durante horas si te apetece. No importa si tu estilo es minimalista o muy detallado; al final, el resultado será único y totalmente tuyo. Al usar el reloj como elemento central, sentí que mi dibujo también transmitía un mensaje personal. El reloj me recuerda que el tiempo es valioso y que, aunque no podamos detenerlo, sí podemos decidir en qué lo invertimos. Dibujar, crear y relajarnos con un zentangle es una forma hermosa de regalarle un momento de paz a nuestro día.  Si nunca has hecho zentangle, te animo a intentarlo. Empieza con algo sencillo: dibuja un cuadrado, divídelo en secciones y prueba patrones básicos como líneas onduladas, puntos o espirales. No pienses en si quedará bonito o feo; todo sin etiquetas. Concéntrate en el proceso, en la sensación del lápiz sobre el papel y en cómo fluye tu mano. Con el tiempo, irás encontrando tus patrones favoritos y tu estilo personal.  Yo seguiré haciendo más garabatos inspirados en Splinterlands y en otros elementos que me llamen la atención. El zentangle es como un viaje creativo sin reglas estrictas, donde cada trazo nos lleva a un destino distinto.
