The television series Black Sails, shot in Cape Town, required a whole bunch of extras... I haven't seen the show itself, and I'm sure the costume and make-up department did its job very well, but nonetheless casting people who look like 'em is the first order of the day.
So, with that in mind, I was amazed to spot this man: think 'Wow he looks like a real-life pirate'; only to find out later in conversation that he was in fact an extra on the show black sails, and in some way or another had commercialised his 'gruff' demeanour. Good on em I think!
