In the past years, I have been fond of going to thrift shops to buy clothes and shoes. I am not into buying brand new items when it comes to my clothes since I always preferred going to thrift shops, or what we call "Ukay-ukay" here in the Philippines. It's my way of saving money, and I know the quality of the items from such stores.
Recently, I got hired as an Internal Auditor, and one of our requirements is to wear Business Casual Attire from Monday to Thursday. It means I need to buy more formal clothes, like polo shirts, and also pair them up with office shoes. And the first idea that came to me is to go to the nearest thrift shop.
It was located in the city, so when I got the chance to be here, I did not think twice to visit one of my favorite stores. Lucky for me, their shoes are on an unbelievable sale, an 80% discount.
Most of their shoes are boots and made with leather materials. And I have bought such styles from here before as well, especially when I need them for specific events. There are also some other shoe styles here for men, making it an ideal store to visit.
They have some rubber shoes, high-cut styles, and even sports shoes. You can see signs of usage on the pairs since it's a thrift shop, so you need to be extra careful in choosing the items. Make sure to check through the outer and inner layers of the shoes.
Since I am looking for something specific, pairs that are good for office attire, I went to the spot where I know they are displayed. They were aligned together with the black shoes, primarily for school, and other leather shoes as well. I had to check them out closely to see whether I would like one of them.
I walked little by little on the aisle to make sure I saw everything that was displayed. But sadly, I did not get to know the style of the shoes I am looking for. Don't get me wrong, some caught my attention, but I was after something like flat doll shoes, but most of them here are in a boot style. I may go back here when I need such pairs on occasion soon.
