Hey Hive friends 👋🏾

Sunday mornings in our home are always a bit of a rush, trying to beat the clock, get everyone ready for church, and still find time to put something decent on the table. But today, I decided to assist my wife in the kitchen, I managed to prepare quick batch of #homemade puff-puff that saved the day. It was fast, easy, and the whole family enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get enough pictures because I was racing against time. You know how it is, frying with one hand and checking the time with the other. 😂 The goal was to not show up late for church, so I had to keep things moving.

📝 Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 10 cubes of sugar
  • ½ tablespoon yeast
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1¼ cups of water

⏰ Step 1: Early Morning Prep

I woke up just before our morning devotion and quickly mixed the puff-puff batter to give it time to rise. While my wife was helping our little one get ready for church, I went straight to the kitchen.

🥣 Step 2: Mixing the Batter

In a bowl, I combined:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • Crushed sugar cubes
  • ½ tablespoon of yeast
  • A pinch of salt

Then I added about 1¼ cups of water and stirred it well. The goal is to get a thick, smooth batter, not watery, not stiff.

⏳ Step 3: Let It Rise

I covered the bowl and let the batter rest. After our devotion (around 40 minutes later), it had risen nicely, soft and fluffy, just how we like it.

🍳 Step 4: Frying Time

I quickly heated up some oil and began frying. Using my hands, I scooped small portions of the batter and dropped them into the hot oil. They puffed up beautifully and turned golden brown in minutes.

🍽️ Step 5: Breakfast Is Served

Before you know it, breakfast was ready! The puff-puff came out soft and slightly sweet, just enough to make everyone smile before we headed out.

This puff-puff may have been rushed, but it definitely hit the spot. Even in the middle of the Sunday hustle, a simple homemade #breakfast like this can bring a little joy and calm before the busy day starts.

Thanks for reading, and have a beautiful, blessed Sunday! 🙏🏾✨
