A few days ago Feb.26,2022 it was the day which I celebrated the 1st Barkday of my dog Duchess wherein I already featured her on my previous blog which was The Creative Blogger Tag however I can still reminisce the day which I assisted my dog Princess during her labor for the little Duchess.
Prior to Princess's labor we were so concerned during her pregnancy because she was not in good shape and she was almost diagnosed with distemper due to the symptoms that was showing and she also fell into the stairs just because of chasing a stray cat and it was alarming for us because she might have a miscarriage so we went directly to the vet clinic to make sure that everything is okay and there we found out that she is having two puppies and unfortunately one of the puppies has a heart condition and sadly might not be able to be born alive.
It was exactly around 7pm wherein I noticed Princess (Duchess's mom) was so uneasy at the bed and she was laying near my foot and then later on Princess licked my foot and sort of asking for help and then there I saw she was about to give labor I was shocked and excited because it was unexpected because the last time we visited the Vet Clinic the veterinarian mentioned that we should expect her to give labor by 3rd week of March. So when she gave birth unfortunately the first puppy was already not breathing which we already expected as what the veterinarian said so we are hoping that the next puppy is healthy and would not have other health condition and then later on Duchess came and she was a very healthy puppy which we are so thankful for and we consider Duchess as a lucky puppy because despite what Princess experienced during her pregnancy Duchess came out so healthy but still it saddens me that one of the puppies did not make it despite the situation we were still grateful that one of the puppies survived which is Duchess.
It was definitely heartwarming how I held Duchess when the time that she was born up until her first Barkday. I saw how she was so excited to drink her mom's milk and act like she has a competition to win up to the time that she was eager to learn how to walk and also bark. I can definitely say that Duchess is the total opposite of Princess because she has all the energy to run and play and would not stay in one place unlike Princess who is the demure one and literally acts like a human baby and loves photoshoots Hahaha the only similar trait that they have is that they are both so loving and clingy which I bet all dogs have.
If you are reading this and wants to have a dog all I can say is go for it as long as you are already responsible enough to handle things as a furparent and you may also do your research first so that you can prepare yourself for the responsibility because I believe that all pets should be treated equally like humans since they also have feelings and provides their loyalty genuinely.
When it was already few days ahead before Duchess's Barkday I already prepared the stuff that I wanted to use for decorations and their outfits.
Also I was able to find a shop that sells Cakes and other birthday stuff for dogs which is Pepper's Favorites.
They will make sure that your dog will have its moment on his/her Barkday I also loved how detailed they are with the designs and gave us a freebie and if you are from Cebu City and wanted to try the experience you can definitely check their Facebook Page by clicking this link Pepper's Favorites .
My dogs cannot deny how much they loved the cake and cupcakes they definitely enjoyed it and also our neighbor's dogs which was invited on her Barkday. We were not able to take photo with our cats which is Bacon and Oreo since there is a lot of dogs at that time and we don't want them to be stressed since not all dogs are in good terms with cats but it was an unforgettable day since it is the day wherein we were able to have a family photo with our dogs and hopefully soon with the cats and I am definitely looking forward to create a memorable experience with my pets in their future birthdays with equal love from me and my parents. That's it for now Ciao!
