Yes, I am back for another Whale For A Day post but this one is a little different! I got fun money to play with and so I sent over $100 in ETH and swapped it to DEC and then the fun began! (I will say this post though is my efforts over a 2 week period or so).

I love it when a article I was writing just so happens to fall in line perfectly with a Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. And since the very first section of this post is already a top 5 Splinterlands moment for me in 2025 I think it fits perfectly for this week's Social Media Challenge! Read more about it here.

First things first
So I swapped over my ETH and I was left with 172,187.629 DEC to play with.

I exchanged enough DEC into Vouchers so I could purchase the "Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut card!

And it was time to buy me a Promo Card! Cause this dude is absolutely bonkers strong!

But this is where the insanity started! What did I get when I bought him????

GOLD FOIL BABY!!! And since I am not that active of a player or that good of a player, having a GF version of this card does me no good as opposed to a regular version. So I figured I would list him for sale and then when it sold buy a normal one off secondary market.

And he finally sold for $190. Which is crazy but also given how OP this card is... it makes sense!
And now to secondary market to buy one for... $21!

And so with that leg of the journey completed it was time to move onto more fun things....

Buying Cards for Friends
I put a message out to my Discord buddies that I would buy them up to $10 worth of cards. They just had to tell me what they wanted. And only 2 people responded...
@txracer wanted 3 cards and it came out to about $8 so I added a few more dupes to it so it was around $10. They wanted:
- Captain Fellblade
- Thanalorian Scion
- Kavor Skarn (I added 2 more of these)

Boom, 1 person down and cards sent to their account as a thank you for being a cool person!
@kylin wanted $10 worth of Commander Slade cards and a Anasth Soothsayerr GF.

@nozem01 was a stinker and said they didn't want anything... but I refuse to let that happen ;) So I told them I would send over $10 worth of Yaba's Pickle just for the meme but then gave in and wanted Aerial Shieldmaiden so I made that happen!

Buying Cards I Don't Have Yet
This is the part of these series where I get carried away honestly. But I am going to TRY to keep myself in check.... "try"
And starting at Conclave Arcana and the promo cards, I am missing 2 but "Archmage Yabanius" is too pricey and so I look to pickup "Gramel the Hunger"

The $14.53 is pricey but it's not too pricey for a Legendary Promo card so I will take it!

But now I change my focus to the regular set of Conclave Arcana and I have at least 1 of each Common, Rare and Epic card. But I am missing a few Legendary cards.

And while looking up the just the Conclave Arcana Legendary cards on Monster Market I see a few are cheap enough for me to stomach the price of them.
And so I spent $40 on 6 Legendary cards that I didn't have!

The rest were just too pricey. I wanted to buy other things today so I had to refrain myself! I am learning.

And then I just started looking for Rebellion cards I didn't have and well...

$49.64 later I picked up 10 legendary cards I didn't have before!

Now LAND time
I spent way too much $$ buying up land plots over the last few months, and now I am trying to fill them with cards so they actually produce something for me.
And so first thing I need is a few Power Cores. So bought 3 of them for 15,000 DEC.

In Briarwood I have 2 plots of land. 1 has been producing Grain for me and the other Iron plot has no workers on it. So time to fix that.

I went back to my list and saw I that Pyromancer was a decent ROI card so I bought enough of those to level up 1 card to max level.

And that means I also need to stake another 10,000 DEC to power him up.
But that also means I am not producing enough Grain in Briarwood to keep up with my Iron needs, so I need to up my Grain production. So I went and bought a max level Vampire and stake another 10,000 DEC.

Which boosts up my Grain production by quite a lot!

Briarwood Production:

Lunaden Production:

Dryae Tor Production:

I know it's not impressive or whatever, but for me I am happy with it and I am continuously making progress so I am happy with where I am at now. Eventually once I keep upgrading my Briarwood and Lunaden plots I will have enough steady production where I will start to move resources over to Dryae Tor and I can start to work on my other plots...

The End
And with all of that done and completed I still have 71k DEC liquid. And while I thought about spending a big chunk of that on Archons to get some of those levelled up, I think I will wait on that. I never really have liquid DEC to play with on a random day when I want something specific so I think I will keep it liquid for now. Who knows, maybe the next promo card.... ;) Only time will tell.
