For this week's entry, My Honest Take on AI: Tool vs. Threat. I'd pick the side of AI as a tool rather than a threat. Here are my reasons;
Firstly AI has become a part of our everyday life, it practically fits into every single thing we do, both for work, and other wise. AI has an efficiency level of about 75 to 90%. It has the ability to sought out almost any problems, all you need is the rightly programmed AI and then, the right question or prompts, it automatically gives you what you want.
I can understand people's fear towards AI. AI was designed almost too perfectly, such that it has the ability to replace and take over a man's work, that's very true. But there's more to it than that. Now here is why I say so; For example, In the banking sector, the accounting department to be detailed. AI has the ability to replace multiple staffs at once because of it's level of efficiency. But an AI is nothing without some one to operate on it. As an accountant, I know you may be very good at balancing accounts and doing all your stuffs, but if you add AI to your knowledge, automatically you become more productive, you won't be replaced by the AI at your working place. All you need is to get yourself familiarised with the Artificial Intelligence, add it to your Natural Intelligence, you find out that it completes you not replace you.
I know that most people say that AI is not perfect, but that's not entirely true. 70% of the times, It's the user that has the flaws, not the system. Manipulating an AI to get exactly what you want can be very tricky, because of it's broad knowledge. Here is what I mean; you go to the ocean to catch a whale, if you use a fish hook, you'll end up with a fish, probably a big one, but definitely not a whale. If you must catch a whale, you have to take your time and study the whale, know its every attributes and characters, then create a perfect strategy to capture it and most importantly, be well equipped. This instance, is typically an AI'S attribute. It's knowledge is almost boundless, so for you to get a specific thing out of it, you have to know exactly how, and when you do, you're practically going to be unstoppable.
Here is one thing I'm very sure of, to build something, you'll have to destroy something else. AI has come and people see it's massive destructive properties because it's pretty visible, a lot of persons lost their jobs and things of sorts. Well here are a few things I recommend. For you to remain relevant in this era, You need to add Value to yourself. There something a great man always says to me, " For you to come to the king is easy, but to remain with the king is another thing entirely, to remain with the king, he needed a use for you, that means you have to be able to solve a kings problems to remain relevant to him, only then can you abide with the king forever. So add value to yourself, don't limit your self to the knowledge you got from the higher institutions, no matter how good you are, always remember that; someone, somewhere is better than you. Get familiar with Ai, instead of kicking against it and fighting an already lost battle, embrace it, learn about it, explore and get a balance between your knowledge and the knowledge of an AI.
I don't know if I made sense to you but, I sure have said everything I wanted to say. There a lot we don't know yet, make researchs that's why we have Google, Chrome, YouTube and lately AI. With the AI all you have to do is ask relevant questions, give accurate prompts and watch your dream come true.
