Feel the burn - Legs..

Unlike my uncle, I just spent 3 minutes pedaling on this recumbent bike for a warm up.

I want to try a workout with just the dumbbells and cable machines, but for my first try at this new gym, I wanted to get familiar with all the selctorized machines they had available. I like the machines because even if u are tired, they are more safe and just isolate and work on 1 muscle group at a time.

I decided to start with my legs, so onto the leg extension machine I went..

I like how easy and fast it is to just sit right down and move the pin to the weight I want.

The one works the quads, or front of the legs.. Now was time for the hamstrings, or back of the legs. This machine is my favorite to sit and pump out some hamstring leg curls.

I like how u can sit regular and work the hams.

Next up was this leg press machine. I just put my feel about center of the plate, about shoulder width apart and I was ready. I am a bit taller that average I suppose (although I shrank 2" now.. still 5'9" tho) so I had to adjust the seat to go back a little, so my legs could fit with just some slight tension from the weight stack..

a trick I made up many years ago.. to get some work in of the calf muscles.. After u do a set of the leg presses, just slide ur feet down till the balls of your feet are still on the plate, but the heels are off and let the weight try and press / extend your feet towards u. Then from that contracted starting position, u press with your feet to tiptoe as much as u can. repeat that about 15-20 times until u feel the burn.

It's surprising how strong the calves are, just do as many reps as it takes to really feel a good burn.

That's it for legs. I'll save what I did for upperbody till the next post. Have a good day everyone. Peace out,

💪😎🤙
