The world shall heal.
When I remember few years back, one of the saddest events that I physically watched played out was the End bad governance/police brutality protest in Nigeria, which unfortunately turned to a bloodbath and a nightmare for many youths.
That day a shocking history was made, but I'm afraid of history repeating itself. Because every single problems and corruption that triggered that massive protest is still going on concurrently, and if not worse. It's now clear that the government are purposely snubbing the cries of the ordinary citizens. Nigeria has become a country where the poor are been dealt with by the government where as the rich who steals the nation wealth are very much respected.
Like they say money doesn't respect the law, rather the law respect money. Very pathetic. The cause of this massive protest that nearly resulted to full revolution was the inflation and insecurities. The two especially the insecurity issues is worse and life threatening to ordinary citizens that made farmers run away from their farms indirectly inflating the cost of food product.
It's in all human nature to show case anger when pushed to the extreme, even animals have feelings too, so when they're been dealt with they react swiftly. So this was the exact thing that lead to the grievance protest tagged END BAD GOVERNANCE.
I'm frightened that history might again repeat despite the inhuman approach the securities made on peaceful protesters. The army and police shot at harmless and unarmed youths converging at the toll gate station expressing their frustration. Not less than thirty people lost thier lives and over forty people were badly injured. The securities claim they used "rubber bullet" and not real bullet, but what now made all those casualties?. A question they refuse to answer till this very day.
I just can't take that scary scene from my thoughts. The sight of bloodshed and the screams of pain. I sincerely don't want another similar protest like that to repeat itself but if the government don't listen and make immediate action, then it will happen.
A lot of homes mourned the past of their loved ones that sacrificed their life for a better country for the future generation do they won't question us why didn't we fight. Till today as I write, attacks ate still been made in different state, either in the Northern part or southern part, or western and eastern part all are experiencing unrest. I wonder why the government are quiet on this pressing issue. The youth will not be silent nor oppressed if it's what the government wants. Again I ask, is this country really worth dying for??
No citizens life should be used as a political tool, our lives matters. What we're asking for is a good governance and favorable conditions for living.
If those that died where able to know that the sane country they died for haven't made any changes, it shows their death was just in vein. Police who sworn to protect life's and properties are now destroying it.
The world needs to heal.
