I breathe such Relief as my ailing Seagate external hard drive has just finally come online on my computer, which means that I can now create this post and not have to transfer or re-import multiple videos and photos to do it with.
You know I was thinking today, being the first of the month and another fantastic Hive power up day #HPUD that maybe I should actually start doing livestreams on #3speak because I kind of figured that I'm going everywhere and doing so many things and capturing so many videos and photos but not have enough time to actually sit down and edit them together, so it just kind of makes sense if I just film and upload at the same time- streamline the process you know...
Anyway, it's been another one of those weeks of non-stop activity- directly after six weeks of non-stop activity in Thailand volunteering at Soi Dog Foundation in Phuket and Kuala Lumpur for #HiveFest 10.
So as some of you know my second day back, I packed up my van and went to sell My Mum's Real Vintage and some of my Chocolate Scorpion Creations design at the Tumoulin market.
And and it was only two days later that I pulled everything out of my van gave it a good clean and repacked it again for the Gordonavale Market which I arrived at at 5 am this morning.
AND most of you know that I am not under any circumstances, in any way, shape or form, a morning person.... but there's some things in life that I either love so much - (volunteering at Soi Dog Foundation/HiveFest 10), or such necessities- like trying to make an income at Markets.... that I will drag myself out of bed kicking and screaming to do it.
It's now 9:35 pm and I can barely keep my eyes open as I sit beside my van in a free camping area surrounded by Australian bush in the Atherton tablelands ready for the Tolga markets tomorrow morning.
But that's just today and tomorrow, I haven't even talk to you about last night when I camped in the car park of the Mountain View hotel, where a local band played Well into the night for a private birthday party.
And why did I park there? You might ask that's because it was the closest free camping spot to the Gordonvale market that I went to today.
Plus I've driven past that historic hotel quite a few times now and I've always wanted to go in for a look so I thought what a better opportunities there and I had some dinner a couple of soft drinks and listen to a one man band out the front while a larger band played out in a beautiful little garden at the back.
And I've also neglected to tell you about the big hike and big swim I had up to Crystal Cascades to cool down, because it is damn hot here in Cairns at the moment and we're only just starting to come into summer now.
And I still haven't told you about the night before when after driving for two hours down the mountain from the house I'm staying at in Evelyn in the Atherton tablelands north east to Cairns, I celebrated my birthday with dinner at the casino and stumbling into this absolutely brilliant Latin band called Kanela and some traditional Mexican dances and singers.
It was such a freaking awesome and unexpected surprise and I just enjoyed the performance so much and I wanted to mark the night with a special memory so I actually asked some of the Mexican dancers if I can get a photo with them and as it happens, it was one of the girls birthdays too!
And I haven't told you about the beautiful and relaxing swim and chill I had at the lagoon- which is a big man-made pool on the Cairns Esplanade. It was hot though- like a bath, too warm!
(the city of Cairns itself, although is in a huge bay and has a I don't know 10 km Esplanade along the waterfront. There is no beach. It's just basically mud flats when the tide goes down and you really would not want to go out there because we have these massive, prehistoric lizards called crocodiles that look out there, hence the man-made pool above the high tide line)
Anyway, so I'm going to share a few photos with you here, but will leave the videos and more detailed photos for separate posts-and now I'm thinking when am I gonna get a chance to do those separate posts because after the Markets closed tomorrow I have to go back to the house and then completely unpack and rearrange the van again ready to travel bit further north up into the Daintree Rainforest for a week or two at attending the Mossman and Port Douglas markets next weekend and then possibly after that or maybe another week after that I will start heading down south, driving down south for the next month, stopping at different friends places on the way until I eventually arrive back in Melbourne- which is on the other side of Australia for New Year's Eve.
