/r/privatestudyrooms is a collection of over 1,500 photographs, drawings, and paintings of private study rooms for peculiar objects by peculiar people. As much as possible, the found images documented the individual at work, surrounded by some of their most intimate and beloved companions: books, original art, writing desks, instruments, dogs, natural light. What's remarkable to me is that so many took the time to show us the contents of their private studies, that we might–at a glance–understand who they were. I want the images to speak for themselves, so I leave you with ten of my favorites:
I. Alexander Constantine Ionides

II. Henry Hobson Richardson

III. Jordi Savall

IV. Alexander Petrovič Basilewsky

V. Hiram Corson

VI. Horace Howard Furness

VII. The Mackarness Place

VIII. Alphonse Mucha

IX. Gabriele D'Annunzio

X. Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm
