I finally had a day off from work, and it was much needed. The past couple of weeks have been incredibly stressful because of my job. I don’t mind the work itself, but the company’s practices—zero-hour contracts, no guaranteed hours, and being classified as self-employed—are things I really dislike. Sorting out taxes feels nearly impossible when I don’t even know what hours I’ll be working. I think it’s time for a change. Feeling burnt out and struggling to keep up with things like curating and creating on Hive, I decided a day outdoors would do me good.
I headed to the University of East Anglia (UEA) for a long walk and some quiet time reading by the lake, with a coffee in hand, of course. Annoyingly, my reusable cup has started to leak. I’ve had it for almost a year, though, so I’m pleased it lasted this long. I’ll look for a new one when I have some time.
All in all it was a nice day to be out in the mild weather and just relax and take a break from things.
Thanks for reading.
