I'm back in Greece – and this time, equipped with a proper drone. However, I must admit: I forgot my ND filters back in Germany. The drone compensates for it pretty well, but videos would look nicer with a lower shutter speed – it just makes movement look more natural. For photos, of course, that's not really relevant.
1. Ferries from above
The idea behind this shot was the color contrast of the ferries.
Light blue and red – how cool is that? :D
The first ferry already has cars on board, while the other is still empty.
Same subject, different message. This time, I focused on the boarding process: one ferry is taking in cars while the other is still completely empty.
This shot shows the harbor from above. The first cars are already lining up to get on board. You'll see the traffic jam more clearly in the following photos.
The line of cars stretches deep into the streets. Right next to it: that clear turquoise water. Gotta say, I like the contrast :)
This time, the focus is on the number of cars waiting to board the ferry. Technically, there should only be two lines – but people keep trying to squeeze into a third and then somehow have to merge back in.
The dark blue ferry isn't in service. I just really liked the angle here.
7. Goodbye
One of the ferries has left.
I loved the trail it left behind.
I tried to align the curve of the rocks (on the right) to match the arc of the ferry's wake – I think it worked out quite well!
You can clearly see that the cars that just got off the ferry need to leave too. Since the streets are quite narrow, there's traffic jam in both directions.
I absolutely love these photos – the colors, the contrast, and especially the subjects. I'll try to fly the drone a few more times during my stay here in Greece. If not here – where else?
Ich bin wieder in Griechenland – und diesmal mit einer vernünftigen Drohne ausgestattet. Allerdings muss ich beichten, dass ich meine ND-Filter in Deutschland vergessen habe. Die Drohne kompensiert das recht gut, allerdings wären Videoaufnahmen mit einer geringeren Verschlusszeit schöner – so sieht Bewegung noch natürlicher aus. Bei Fotos ist das natürlich nicht von Relevanz.
1. Fähren von oben
Meine Idee hinter dieser Aufnahme war der farbliche Kontrast der Fähren.
Hellblau und Rot – wie cool ist das bitte? :D
Die erste Fähre hat zudem bereits Autos an Bord, während die andere unbeladen ist.
Ähnliches Motiv, andere Message. Hier ging es mir vor allem um das Boarding: Eine Fähre nimmt gerade Autos auf, während die andere komplett leer ist.
Hier sieht man den Hafen von oben. Die ersten Autos warten bereits darauf, auf die Fähre zu kommen. Den Stau sieht man noch auf den anderen Bildern.
Die Schlange zieht sich weit in die Straßen hinein. Direkt daneben: das klare, türkise Wasser. Gefällt mir :)
Diesmal liegt der Fokus auf der Menge an Autos, die auf die Fähre wollen. Eigentlich sollten es nur zwei Reihen sein, aber es fahren immer wieder Leute in eine dritte – und müssen sich dann irgendwie einordnen.
Die dunkelblaue Fähre ist nicht im Einsatz. Ich fand einfach den Winkel schön.
7. Tschüss
Eine der Fähren hat abgelegt.
Den Trail, den sie hinter sich herzieht, fand ich super.
Ich habe dabei versucht, dass die Formation der Steine (rechts im Bild) einen ähnlichen Radius zeigt wie der Weg der Fähre – ich glaube, das ist ganz gut gelungen.
Hier kann man recht gut sehen, dass die Autos, die vorher auf der Fähre waren, auch wieder runter müssen. Da die Straßen recht eng sind, gibt es in beide Richtungen Stau.
Ich liebe die Bilder – die Intensität der Farben, den Kontrast und vor allem die Motive. In meiner Zeit hier in Griechenland werde ich versuchen, noch das ein oder andere Mal mit der Drohne zu fliegen. Wenn nicht hier, wo sonst?
