AHONEX: Splinterlands' "Auctions" platform

**Greetings Splinterlovers 💛** Taking another short break from detailed card analysis, and having completed the series of posts about the main tokens that make up the Splinterlands economy, this time I want to show you a new platform that can be very helpful if your goal is to sell your collection. with the aim of circulating the money and rotating it into new collections that allow us to play in the "Modern Format." So, whether you're new or not so new, this could be of great interest to you. So, in this post, I will introduce and/or detail "AHONEX," an "auction" platform for "Splinterlands" assets created by **@aggroed** and **@yaziris**, where you can basically buy and sell cards, as simple as that, but with a very exciting twist: instead of buying them directly on the traditional game market, on AHONEX buying or selling becomes a competition, showing who wants a specific card the most, which allows for certain strategies that I will discuss in this post. **So, if you didn't know about AHONEX, you should read this post to the end, because you might end up liking it. I'll try to explain it in detail, although I may miss a few things. If so, please let me know in the comments. But without further ado, let's get started with the information:** ---  ## What is AHONEX, how does it work, and how can I participate?   Okay, AHONEX was created with the intention of providing the Splinterlands community with a fun and different way to buy and sell your cards. So, with that clear and knowing that it is like an auction house Peer To Peer (P2P) auction house, where we can sell or buy cards and PLOTS, we will basically have the opportunity to acquire some assets at competitive prices and even apply arbitrage strategies if we have the opportunity to do so, something I will mention a little later. The big difference between AHONEX and traditional markets is that it involves competition for assets, where the highest bidder ultimately wins the card or item being auctioned. Furthermore, this way of buying or selling is much more dynamic and volatile, but that's not all it can do. Basically, it can be used to offload assets that are in very low demand, but I'll explain how it works later. --- **Operation + Requirements** How it works and how to participate in "Auctions" is very simple, there is nothing complicated about it, but you must take certain aspects into account before you start. So, before I explain how it actually works, I will first explain how you can log in and what you need to do so. I am saying this especially for the newer readers, so let's quickly start with the requirements: * **Requirements:** If you are very new to the ecosystem, the first thing you should keep in mind is that you must have a "Splinterlands" account. Now you're all set to get started. Remember to "Log In" once you've installed the extension and placed your private keys in it. --- **How to participate in Auctions?** This is very simple, there is nothing complicated about it, but I will explain how you can participate in both scenarios, whether you are a buyer or a seller: * **As a buyer:** All you have to do is browse the active auctions and start bidding on the assets you are interested in. It's as simple as that. To know which assets to bid on, you must already have a clear idea of what you want to do: build a new deck, buy and sell with arbitrage, or basically just try it out. Each auction has a time limit, and when it ends, the highest bidder wins. The ecosystem's transactional token, DEC, is used for this purpose.  * **As a Salesperson:** It is practically the same, except that you will be the one listing the asset. However, you must bear in mind that each auction has a "starting price, a reserve price, and a buy-it-now price." The starting price is the minimum required for bidding to begin, the reserve price is the minimum price you set that is acceptable to you regardless of what happens with the auction, and the buy now option allows anyone who wants to buy the asset to do so without having to go through the auction.  That's pretty much all you have to do. It's very simple, especially if you're a salesperson. Once you've got all this clear, you'll be ready to participate.  ## Strategies for successful "Buy and Sell" auctions  To be successful on these types of platforms, you must have clear strategies in place to avoid losses. With this in mind, you should keep in mind the following two approaches: --- **Strategy for Buyers** * **Snipping y Arbitraje:** These are two simple strategies to apply, but they require a lot of precision and foresight. For example, with "Snipping," you bid on a card in the last few seconds, which prevents other players and/or investors from reacting to your move, ensuring you get the card. On the other hand, "Arbitrage" is very simple. The idea behind this strategy is to bid on a card that costs less than the official market value of "Splinterlands." This way, you can list it at the current market price and keep the difference. * **Price Research:** This is not a strategy as such, but it has a lot to do with performing "Arbitrage" correctly, since the idea is that you research the value of the cards on the "Splinterlands" market and know the value of the card you want to bid on well. That way, you can estimate whether that investment could be profitable or, failing that, whether you would lose money. --- **Strategy for Salespeople** * **Low starting price:** Even if you think this would be wrong, listing a useful and valuable card at a starting price lower than its market value, say 5% or 6% less, could be one of the best strategies, since the competition to obtain your card during the auction will be fierce, which could drive the price beyond what the official market offers. Be aware that this can be risky, but it's worth a try. The idea is to test it out and see how it goes. This is by no means a recommendation, so the decision is up to each of you. * **Starting price and reservation:** For me, these are two of the most important settings when selling. In fact, the reserve price is like the minimum "take profit" that you set when trading, because it works the same way here. Make sure you set a reserve price that you feel comfortable with and that you won't incur losses. So, it's essential to keep this in mind if you're a seller.  ## Conclusion  AHONEX is a very good platform, interesting and worth trying. Also, if you want to start listing those cards you want to get rid of and build a new deck, this is your chance.
