**Greetings SplinterLovers** ๐
I wish everyone a happy weekend in my favorite community. Since the launch of the Arcane Conclave expansion, Splinterlands has redefined battle with the new "Archons," a new class of summoners that infuse unprecedented strategic complexity thanks to "Bloodlines." However, in the "Rebellion" edition, there are also "Archons," and there is a very powerful one called "Eternal Tofu." This is a "Legendary Archon" that belongs to the Earth and Life splinters, which has emerged not only as a power card but also as a fundamental pillar in the current metagame thanks to its summoner tactics.
Eternal Tofu is a strategist who turns defense into a form of relentless offense, forcing opponents to completely rethink their combinations, as his "Summoner Tactic" remains a fairly strong way to play the "Legendary Archons" of Rebellion. So, below, we explore all of its benefits, its disruptive impact, and the battle scenarios where it redefines victory.

Visual appearance

### **With nothing further to add, until next time, "Splinterlords."**

The card presents Eternal Tofu not as a traditional warrior or mage, but as a majestic feline "Archon" against a background divided between the colors of his splinters: the earthy green of Earth and the bright gold of the Life team.
In the center stands a cat with beige fur and piercing green eyes that radiate unwavering authority. Its pose is one of leadership, and its expression is one of deep concentration and perhaps a touch of feline annoyance, as cats tend to be, haha. For me, the most striking thing is what appears to be the core of its power, a bright blue cube floating just in front of its chest as if it were a kind of necklace, which is surrounded by pure energy, also reflecting that this is no ordinary cat.
**At your feet, the dynamic changes with two more cats:**
On the left sits a sturdy gray cat with a sleepy look, who seems to be the team's steadfast guardian or tank. His posture is one of pure resilience, embodying the +2 Health bonus that Tofu grants to his allies on the battlefield.
On the right, a small white kitten is looking up with an expression of admiration and surprise, suggesting innocence and the potential for healing support (Triage or Scavenger), or at least that is what I imagine from the illustration.
Taken together, the illustration tells a story. He is not only an Archon of immense power, but also a strategic leader who commands a small feline troop. The blue cube is the nexus of everything, the source of the ironclad defense and return damage that has revolutionized the metagame, along with his healing abilities. For me, he is undoubtedly one of the best Archons in the game.

##
Abilities and Statistics

Eternal Tofu is one of the pioneers in offering a set of five strategic benefits (three passive and two selectable tactics), as this was something that was introduced in the previous edition called "Rebellion," but at the time it was a revolution. Even today, with "Arcane Conclave" already in operation, "Summoner Tactics" are still more alive than ever within the "Metagame."
**Passive Abilities (Granted to all units)**
* **Thorns:** The Anti-Melee ability is default in the game, as it returns +2 physical damage points to the attacker when hit by a melee attack. This effect, incorporated into each of our units, has the ability to completely dismantle our opponent's melee formations, so keep this in mind in these types of battles.
* **+2 Health:** This is what "Massive Resistance" means, as it grants a +2 health boost to all monsters on our side of the field. This is a huge resistance benefit that helps us endure much longer on the battlefield, which can ultimately lead to victory.
* **Snare:** This ability eliminates the possibility of Flying and guarantees, or at least increases, the chances that attacks will not miss against this type of card. It is a vital tool against compositions that have a high probability of evading our attacks. In fact, this is a much-overlooked ability, but one that works very well in certain battle conditions.
**Tactics: The Touch of Specialization**

Selectable tactics allow Tofu to adapt to the enemy composition, focusing on frontline survival or scaling key units in our lineup. So, to help you understand how to use it correctly, I will explain both tactics:
* **Tactic 1 (Solid Block):** This tactic applies to 3 units, granting them the Divine Shield and Corrosive Ward abilities. On the one hand, we have the possibility of reducing the first attack on these 3 cards to zero. Furthermore, if our opponent hits one of them, with Corrosive Ward we can remove 2 shield points and their maximum shield, preventing Repair from recovering their maximum shield.
* **Tactic 2 (Scaling and Support):** Apply the "Scavenger" and "Triage" abilities to 1 unit. The goal here is to strengthen a tank/core while recovering its health points, so that with each defeat it inflicts on the opponent's cards, it gains an additional point, which could make one of our cards very resistant and difficult to defeat.

##
Rules where this summoner shines the most

Eternal Tofu excels in rules that favor prolonged combat and penalize direct damage units, assuming a counter-meta role against formations that include the "Melee" attack type as their offensive pillar.
**Best Rules for Zyrx** โ

* **Super Sneak:** Allows melee monsters to attack the last card in your opponent's lineup, while the "Thorns" ability punishes Sneakers and protects your rear guard.
* **Unprotected:** Removes Armor. The passive Thorns deals 2 direct damage to the attacker's health points, becoming extremely efficient by not having to penetrate shields, which speeds up the opponent's defeat.
* **Equalizer:** All units have the health of the monster with the most health. If Tofu increases base health by +2 health points, this can give a huge advantage to all your units, which then benefit from healing without having to invest much mana in health.
**Worst Rules for Zyrx** โ

Tofu is weaker against compositions that negate its passive effects or prevent the return damage applied by "Thorns."
* **Silenced Archons:** The worst rule ever for "Tofu," as it disables all of its abilities (Thorns, +2 Health, Snare, and Tactics), leaving you with only the base stats, a fatal disadvantage. So with this rule, we must use other types of "Archons."
* **Healed Out:** It nullifies the healing effect of any skill that provides it, so the "Support" strategy without any healing means that the team wears down quickly, which could make your team vulnerable if you decide to apply the second tactic, instead of the first if applicable.
* **Back to Basics:** Monsters lose all their abilities. Although the "Archon" retains its effects, losing key abilities such as Heal, Void, or Armor significantly weakens the overall sustain of Tofu teams, making it inefficient to select.

##
Conclusion

The Legendary Archon "Eternal Tofu" is a strategic force that has cemented itself in the meta thanks to its control and support capabilities. It is not simply an improved version of Thorns' "Archon," but rather a card that allows you to play with different strategies depending on the conditions at hand.
Mastering Eternal Tofu means understanding that victory comes through wearing down your opponent: by returning damage, increasing base health, and preventing flyers from dodging, Tofu ensures that the enemy defeats itself while your units stand firm. It proves that in Splinterlands, careful planning and adaptation are the true keys to success.
I invite everyone to join Splinterlands, the best game based on chains of blocks, full of adventures, battles, and strategies where you will have fun and get rewards according to your league
