Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #ladiesofhive community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt topic: if you were told you had won a scholarship to study or learn something new, what would you like to learn and why?

The moment I receive a message that I have won a scholarship, I will be the happiest person in the world. I will not think twice; I will choose mass communication because I was denied the opportunity and given another course to study at the university. It has always been my wish since I was a kid to be a journalist and presenter, either on radio or television. I can remember back then as a kid my parents would always ask me for information on the things happening in the country for you to see how passionate I was. I have this particular lady whose programme I love listening to. I will always tell my siblings I want to be like the lady when I grow up. Like they say, life is not predictable and is not balanced; our wishes and dreams most times don’t come into reality.

I believe having this scholarship is just like my dream coming to pass; it will give me the privilege to be a journalist. That has always been my wish right from childhood. I will be very valuable to my community and to my country as a whole. Everything about media makes me happy, and having a chance to study it will not be bad. I want to be educated and get all the knowledge I need so that I can be a good presenter so that whenever people think about me, they will be eager just to come and sit and listen to my programme.

The majority reason I am going into mass communication is I want to pass on ideas and educate people. I believe that it is not only in school that knowledge is being passed on; as a presenter, you also pass information to your listeners. I can remember back then things I learnt from my favourite radio presenter have really helped me in one way or another. One thing about a presenter is you keep reading and researching because there are people you are educating, and you will not like to pass false information to them. You have to be updated on the things happening in the world.

As a journalist it opens way too many opportunities; you get to sit and talk with top men, interview them and carry their stories. This particular part sweetens me when it comes to mass communication.

Another thing about journalism is that it will give the opportunity to tour the country while gathering news and also meet people.

Winning this scholarship will make all my dreams come true. I will be a well-known journalist; the world will hear my voice, and I can’t wait to put a smile on their faces.
