Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt, 'business-minded'.
Soon are the days people go into a profession because they have passion for it; right now people are so business-minded to a point that hospitals are built with the aim of making money and saving lives. People existing in the world keep making things so hard. I remember back in the day people were so passionate when it came to treating people well; the majority stopped being kind and generous because it was taken for granted. Most times we always notice that people change towards us, but we never care to know what we did to them that made them change their mind and action towards us.
In the world we are in today, nobody wants to be a fool, and nobody will like to play the victim for the second time. People now think twice before they can take any step. Most times we tag these people as being wicked, but something might have pushed them to change their mind. I have a friend of mine who owns a big hospital. She is the kind of person that believes in saving lives first before money. Something happened that made her change her mind, and people now see her as someone that is wicked.
One faithful morning I was with her in her office when someone rushed in in a very critical situation. The nurse rushed into her office to tell her of the emergency. As someone that went into the profession not because of the money but because she has a passion for saving lives, she immediately went into theatre. Without asking the young man and the family for a deposit, the surgery was successful, and when it was time to pay, all she could hear from them was stories. This particular incident and many others that have been happening in the hospital made her stop the gesture. Before she will attend to any patients, the family or the patient must make a deposit.
Most types of people change because of the way people make them feel, and this has really made a lot of things change. Then majority of people are now business-minded and not for the passion.
The big question here is how can we return to a time when people actually worked for their passion?
It is very much possible to return to a time when people go into a profession because they have passion for it. This is where the government has to play a very important role. People start lacking interest in their passion because the government is not treating them right; they receive peanuts as salaries from the government. They are not well rewarded for the services they render to the country. Thousands of people have given up on their passion because they have been neglected by the government.
