I will always remember and cherish the special days in our lives that were full of love, laughter, beauty, and joy. For me, that day was when we travelled to Balamban, Cebu. Our trip involved more than just sightseeing; it involved spending time with the person I genuinely love. We are excited because we are enjoying nature together and admiring the small things that make life so unique. At 8 am, we set out on the road, marking the beginning of our adventure. The drive itself was really thrilling since I knew we would be seeing the breathtaking scenery that awaited us. Knowing that today would be our special and loving day.

First Stop: Balwarte ni Alfredo
Our first stop was Balwarte ni Alfredo, a location along the highway, also known as TCH. A lot of tourists visit this area because of its friendly staff, mouthwatering food, and welcoming view. However, the scene in front of us was truly magical when we arrived. Although it's freezing and the hills are partially obscured by fog, it's making a dreamy place. But the funniest part of our stop happened when we're ordered food. We thought the staff would serve the food directly to our table, but instead, they called our number to claim it at the counter. At first, it felt a lil bit embarrassing for us since we weren’t expecting it, but the staff was so cheerful and kind. They even joked with us, saying that we can go the elevator which means stairs and that makes us the moment lighthearted and fun. After eating, we stepped outside again. The rain had already started to fade, and we could see the hills more clearly. It was so perfect to start our Balamban trip.

Second Stop: Buwakan ni Alejandra
We then proceeded to Buwakan ni Alejandra, one of Cebu's the best gardens. I was stunned when we walked in. I saw flowers of all shapes, sizes, and colours everywhere I looked. The entire garden gave us the impression that we had travelled to another nation, such as Switzerland or South Korea. We continued to explore despite the light rain. Actually, it gave the flowers a more vibrant and fresh appearance. We strolled around, snapped a lot of photos, and just took in the beauty of the natural world. We were having so much fun that time. We spent nearly two hours without even realising it.

My favourite thing about Buwakan ni Alejandra was how it helped me relax. With so many flowers all around, it's a pleasant surprise to see your favourite flower, the "Hydrangea," for the first time. Flowers are more than just flowers; God send them to us to serve as a reminder of a valuable life lesson: throughout heat, storms, and changing weather, they will always find a way to reach the light. No matter what obstacles we face, we are meant to continue growing, just like them. As a nature observer, it served as a reminder that, when you pause, reflect, and fully appreciate something, even something as simple as a full of flowers garden can bring you great happiness.

Third Stop: Florentino’s Eco Park
Florentino's Eco Park, another incredible find in Balamban, was our next stop. In as well as nature, the place featured art and cuisine. Beautiful paintings painted the walls as soon as we entered the first floor. Each one used colour and brushstrokes to tell a story. We discovered additional paintings that told their own stories when we went up to the second floor. Every painting had a message, and it was like exploring an imaginative our universe.

I became attracted to one painting. It was created by my friend and churchmate Kuya Flet, an artist whose skill I have always appreciated. Although I knew he was a talented painter, I wasn't prepared to see his work there. One of his paintings was even purchased for ₱15,000, which surprised me! I felt so inspired and proud to see his artwork in such a beautiful setting. Also to the paintings, we loved the soothing music that was playing in the park. It produced such a serene atmosphere. After that, we went upstairs to see the renowned rolling hills and took some mirror shots from the deck view. It was an amazing sight. The hills stretched far and wide, like soft green waves meeting the sky. As we standing there, we felt so small but full of wonder.

Nature has a way of making us stop and consider just how lucky we are to be able to see its own beauty and how big the world is. We stayed for a while, just taking in the scenery and the fresh air, and took more photos. Florentino's was more than just a park; it was an experience that brought together nature, art, and self-reflection

Fourth Stop: Asturias Man-Made Forest
We drove through the man-made forest road in Asturias after I told him to stop at a Jollibee drive-through for our snacks on the way home. The drive was peaceful and refreshing with trees lining both sides and creating a canopy over us. It started out as a simple moment but evolved into something significant. We talked about our lives and families over chicken, burgers, and fries. We appreciated each other's company, laughed, and discussed our dreams. That simple rest was a reminder that sometimes the most memorable experiences aren't about exotic places but rather about routine stops that are valued by my partner.

Final Stop: San Remigio Beach
We stopped one last time at San Remigio beach to watch the sunset before heading for home. The moment was ideal. The sky turned orange, and the water reflected it beautifully. It was one of those sunsets that makes you pause and simply stare at the beauty of the world. I felt at peace as my love and I was walking along the shore. Everything around us seemed to slow down, the breeze was cool, and the waves were calm. It seemed like the ideal way to finish away a wonderful day was to watch the sunset together.
I thanked him and kissed him when we arrived home, thankful for everything, including the places we saw, the love we shared during the journey, and his effort to drive even though his lack of energy. In a way, being with someone I love was even more special than the locations' natural beauty. Every ordinary moment became extraordinary with his presence. Whether it was holding my hand while driving, laughing over food, or watching the sunset together, I came to understand that love brings sweetness and value to every journey.Even though life can feel hectic and overwhelming at times, days like these serve as a reminder to slow down, be grateful for what I have, and value the people in my life the most. Balamban gave me time to think, enjoy, and love in instead of photos and views. I can say that visiting Balamban was not the only purpose of this trip. Making memories that will last a lifetime was the goal. And I will always be grateful for that.
When will you and the love of your life spend time to discovering the beauty of nature?
