> ! [English] > # The box story 📦 >I had always liked antique shops; I loved the thrill of discovering things from the past, mysterious things. > >But after that purchase, my interests changed. I remember walking through the city center and remembering that a friend had told me about a particular shop. > >Strangely, it was nearby, so I decided to visit the place. When I arrived, it was already late, and although the shop looked very intriguing, it had a sign saying it was closed. > >I peered through the window, but I couldn't see much. I wished it were open, so I didn't pay any attention to it. As I was about to leave, the door opened. > >I was so desperate that I just went in and started looking at everything there was. There were many antique pieces, some very scary and others very delicate. > >Among all the pieces, there was one that caught my attention. It was a carved wooden box. I was fascinated by this antique, so I decided to take it. > >When I got to the counter, a very sinister-looking man attended to me. His clothes were very old-fashioned, and that wine-colored velvet vest was as horrible as his face. > >While I was paying, the salesman didn't say anything, he just looked at me, but in the end he only said, “Take the key, and for your own good, you'd better never open it.” > >I didn't want to understand. I left the place happy with my box. It was perfect for my nightstand or perhaps for storing my jewelry. > >I got home that night, I was tired and fell asleep, I had a horrible nightmare, something was coming out of the box and watching me, sucking my soul out and leaving me empty. > >How silly, I thought, and shortly after breakfast, I looked for the key in my bag and went to get the box. It felt heavier and a putrid smell was coming from it. > >Maybe because it was old or something was rotten inside it. I took the key, opened it, and I think it would have been better to obey that horrible salesman's order. > >Because now I am the one who inhabits this evil box.
