After over 6 years of playing the Splinterlands game, I am officially returning to the game. It’s been a long time coming but had to look up the website to see if there are any new updates on the game that I might not be aware of so will be sharing insights on what I’ve been able to gather just incase any of my fans or friends want to be a part of the game. Splinterlands is basically a NFT card game where players can battle with the use of cards. It is also a trading game where users can buy and sell cards in game. It is one of the games under the Arcade Colony Game platform. Players need to purchase and equip their cards to be able to win battles. Below is a quick review of what this game is all about.
So we are made to understand that there are two types of cards on Splinterlands which are the Archon cards and the Unit cards. So here are the functions of these cards.
Archon: You buff your units when you summon an Archon cards, you can also debuff your opponent’s when you do so. The Archon you choose will determine the elements you will use.
Unit: The Unit cards are I’ll help you work your land, defend you, it will also help you in fighting arena games. You are able to summon manifestations with this card and do your bidding as well.
Mana is being merged with Elements to provide a better result. Players are normally able to summon manifestations via a single element each time but there are Archons that allow players to be able to summon units from various elements. Most times, players can summon manifestations that have no elements except it is required.
This is the breakdown of what the numbers on the cards represent. You can call it the Card basics. Check out what each number stands for on the card via the labeling.
1 Mana Cost: Mana Cost signifies how powerful a card is. The cost will have an impact on how your teams will be created.
2 Stats: The Stats stand for your physical power, its speed, how tough your character is and its health.
3 Element/Rarity: This stands for the Element while the Rarity (Either Common, Rare, Epic or Legendary) is being represented by the color.
4 Name: This stands for the Character name
5 Bloodline: The Bloodline stands for Ancestry. Bonuses are rewarded to cards who share bloodline by mechanics most times.
6 Experience: When you combine cards that are the same, there will be a green indicator that will already to show how your progress to the next level is going.
7 Level: When your level is high, then your card will be extra powerful. When your level appreciates, your Stats will rise and super abilities will be unlocked.
8 Abilities: These represents the special skills and powers that can be used during your battles.
When your go to “Your Collection” you will be able to access and view how and what you need to be able to unlock levels and upgrade your character Stats and also unlock abilities.
These are the types of Attacks that exist, so if you find any of these attack abilities on your character, it means they posses it. To use Melee and Ranged Attack, you will need to attack from the front row, will with Magic attack you can be able to attack from any rows The Magic attack never misses it’s shot while the other two are likely to miss their shots.
There are also stats like the Speed, the Armor and the Health. If the character’s speed is high, it is hardly hit with either Ranged or Melee Attacks. As for the Armors, the Character’s Armor must first of all be depleted so that damages can affect the health of the defenders. When a character’s health is being hit and it reaches zero, that will be the death of the character.
Welcome to the Battlefield. To be able to win your battles you really need to understand how to position your characters. On the battlefield, you have two rows and six positions in total. On the front row, ranged attacks can’t be activated. While in the back row Melee attack characters are not able to attach expect it is stated as their ability or ruleset. Each time a unit is defeated, the next units that follows step up. One needs to be strategic about positioning these units. In terms of Adjacency, you will also need to position your characters in a line style and not grid style.
Above you can see the battle rules where the Mana cost is represented, the Elements too and we are notified that no changes are made to the standard rules.
STEPS TO CONSIDER WHEN CREATING YOUR TEAM
First step: In creating your team, these are the steps you need to take. What you do first is selecting an Archon, every archon on your collection will be displayed on your screen. Your archon level will be used to decide the level or the units you can add to your team. Your stats tag when you click on your archon card will let you see the abilities or your archon.
Second step: You can select any neutral units too
Third step: The characters selected in first unit are the ones that will appear on the front row during your battle. Your Magic and Melee attack characters are able to hit from front two while Ranger need distance to be able to activate . You can manually drag units to occupy empty slots.
Abilities are what help players to win their battles . The abilities of each character have an impact on the result of the battles. So select your characters wisely to be able to win battles easily.
After setting up your team, you are now ready to combat. Read the combat section to know the formation and functions that the units carry out as well as other vital information you need to play the game successfully. Happy game play guys and looking forward to battling with you.
