Hello creative friends
I will be hosting a 4 prompt drawing challenge for the last week of September. It is mostly about autumn I already have the prompts figured I am finalizing the banner itself. The image below is right now what speaks to me the most but later on this post you will see some color options and I needed your inputs or suggestions.
Here is how I made the design
I started with coming up with a theme that is about fall and its beautiful colors. Then a title and a set of drawing prompts to go with it. Once settled I immediately sketched the texts on my canvas
This is the title I came up with " Cozy Critter Autumn". If you had been seeing my art I always begin with base colors first and under them would be a layer of black background so when I scratch the colors the negative spaces become black making the colors pop. I did not want to make the letters convoluted so I used the usual fonts then stylized them just a bit when it was time to scratch.
Here you see the four prompts in different colors. I am testing which color would work, I used pastel and lighter colors thinking they would work well with dark background. I also started incorporating the creatures which I had been using on my art. They are forest folks who are merry makers and are fond of fireworks unfortunately I forgot to include the flying rockets and naruto clouds which are supposed to be ubiquitous in my pieces. That is me being spontaneous and forgot that important thing. All the added details here now are made with no plan. I was shaping and scratching spontaneously really no solid plan but that is not bad that is me and that is how I work most of the time.
I think the texts are better with white instead of the different pastel colors. Now that all the details are done I am trying to balance everything. The upper left is filled with leaves so the upper right must have the same amount of details and so I added the stars and a few more leaves. The bottom part is equally framing the banner with some interesting creatures. I think I am happy now with what I had made it is just a matter of scratching off the remaining blank spaces. It takes time to do all that and sometimes you may accidentally scratch an area that is not supposed to be touched.
I will be using this art as a banner for the drawing prompts I will host next time before the month of September ends. I made some options which one of these you think would be the best one to use :
