Visiting the Sea Turtle Recovery Center in Dos Mosquises- Los Roques Venezuela 🇻🇪 [Esp/Eng]

   Hola amigos viajeros🧡, les seguiré compartiendo un poco de mi travesía por los cayos del Archipiélago de Los Roques, Venezuela, el dia de hoy les hablare de Dos Mosquises, un cayo que queda a una hora y media aproximadamente desde Gran Roque, es uno de los Cayos más visitados gracias a la Reserva de Tortugas para su protección, un proyecto que se lleva a cabo gracias a Fundamar, en el Territorio Insular Francisco de Miranda. > Hello fellow travelers🧡, I will continue to share a little bit of my journey through the keys of the Los Roques Archipelago in Venezuela. Today I'll tell you about Dos Mosquises, a cay located about an hour and a half from Gran Roque. It is one of the most visited cays thanks to the Turtle Reserve for their protection, a project carried out by Fundamar in the Francisco de Miranda Insular Territory.   Este post es muy bonito porque he visitado tanto este Cayo que siento que una parte de mi se quedó en este sitio, no es un lugar para bañarse puesto que debe ser un cayo tranquilo y poco concurrido para que las tortugas puedan volver a este lugar ya siendo adultas y poner sus huevos. Un dato curioso es que las tortugas tienen una especie de radar y al salir de una isla la recuerdan para toda su vida, haciendo que ésta vuelva años después para poner sus huevos. Es por ello, que este cayo aunque es muy visitado es solo para observar a las tortugas que se encuentran protegidas, ya que están en peligro de extinción, las resguardan por cierto tiempo y luego son liberadas al mar cuando pueden defenderse de los depredadores marinos y del ser humano que las consume. > This post is very special because I have visited this cay so many times that I feel like a part of me stayed there. It is not a place for swimming, as it must remain a quiet and uncrowded cay so that the turtles can return here as adults and lay their eggs. An interesting fact is that turtles have a kind of radar and when they leave an island, they remember it for the rest of their lives, causing them to return years later to lay their eggs. That is why, although this cay is very popular, it is only for observing the turtles, which are protected because they are in danger of extinction. They are kept there for a certain amount of time and then released into the sea when they can defend themselves from marine predators and the humans who consume them.   Este sitio está resguardado día y noche por sus trabajadores, el costo del lugar son 3 dólares destinados al mantenimiento de las tortugas y resguardan tres tipos de tortugas "Carey, Caguama y Tortuga verde", que son las que se encuentran en el Archipiélago Los Roques, además, por ser un lugar tranquilo suele ser visitado en sus orillas por estrellas de mar en ocasiones, ya que éstas se encuentran en lugares tranquilos y poco concurridos. > This site is guarded day and night by its workers. The cost of the site is $3, which goes toward the maintenance of the turtles. They protect three types of turtles: hawksbill, loggerhead, and green turtles, which are found in the Los Roques Archipelago. In addition, because it is a quiet place, starfish are sometimes seen on its shores, as they are found in quiet and uncrowded places.   Este cayo es mágico, ya que es testigo del nacimiento de muchas tortugas y su resguardo, por otro lado, existen los famosos Cangrejos Ladrones y de todos los cayos, en este es donde mas abundan, incluyendo a los guaripetes (reptiles inofensivos) de color negro, otro dato curioso es que la arena no quema, puesto que está compuesta por coralina, no es el mismo suelo de la arena normal de las playas habituales. > This cay is magical, as it witnesses the birth and protection of many turtles. On the other hand, it is home to the famous thief crabs, which are most abundant here than on any other cay, including black guaripetes (harmless reptiles). Another interesting fact is that the sand does not burn, as it is composed of coral, unlike the normal sand found on most beaches.
