Epic Games did it again. Every week they pull out a great free game, and this time they were extra generous: from September 11 to 18, you can download Ghostrunner 2 completely free, one of the most intense action games released in recent years. And the best part is that, as always, once you claim it, it stays in your library forever. No strings attached, no hidden fees, nothing. Absolutely insane!
After a few weeks where they were giving away some indie hits, I think this is the first time in months that we have a AAA title on Epic's free games list. And there's another surprise: we'll also have the second part of Monument Valley to download completely free. The first one is still on sale at Epic, and if you go there now, you can get it for free.
But today we're focusing on Ghostrunner 2. The first thing you need to know is that this isn't a game for those looking to "relax." There isn't a second of rest here: it's all about speed, precision, and reflexes. Basically, you're a cyber ninja with a katana who can run up walls, do parkour, slide, use a grappling hook to move around the environment, and even slow down time for a few seconds to dodge impossible shots. ---
The rule is simple: if they touch you, you die. But your enemies also fall with a single slash, so the tension is constant. I do remember this game being talked about a lot at the time, but I'm not sure if it was because it wasn't that good, or because it came out at a time when the market was saturated with other games, and it didn't get the reception or sales it was expected to.
The game puts you back in the role of Jack, the protagonist from the first title, who now must face new threats inside and outside the Dharma Tower. The setting is pure cyberpunk: neon lights, factions that want to control everything, and a protagonist who only knows how to cut down anything that gets in his way. It reminds me a lot of Katana Zero, but in 3D.
I vaguely remember that Epic also gave away the first installment a few years ago, so this free gift is great for completing the story, and if I ever decide to play it, I can get both games right away. There's no rush, since it doesn't really appeal to me, but it's good to know it's available for players.
Besides, it's a game that's completely different from the ones we've been getting for free in recent weeks, which have focused more on relaxation or titles that don't require much skill from the player. It's a real surprise, but one I'm very happy about, and I'll add it to my library next week.

Epic Games lo volvió a hacer. Cada semana se saca un regalazo de la manga y esta vez se pasó de generosa: del 11 al 18 de septiembre podrás descargar totalmente gratis Ghostrunner 2, uno de los juegos de acción más intensos que han salido en los últimos años. Y lo mejor es que, como siempre, una vez lo reclames se queda en tu biblioteca para siempre. Sin trucos, sin pagos ocultos, sin nada. Absoluta locura
Despues de algunas semanas en donde nos estaban regalando algunos exitos indies creo que es la primera vez en meses que tenemos un AAA en la lista de espera de juegos gratis de Epic, eso si, tambien hay otra sorpresa y es que tambien vamos a tener la segunda parte de Monument Valley para descargar completamente gratis, la primera sigue en promocion en Epic y si vas a ahora puedes tenerla gratis
Pero hoy nos quedamos con Ghostrunners 2, lo primero que tienes que saber es que no es un juego para los que buscan “relajarse”. Aquí no hay un segundo de descanso: todo es velocidad, precisión y reflejos. Básicamente eres un ninja cibernético con katana que puede correr por paredes, hacer parkour, deslizarse, usar un gancho para moverse por el escenario y hasta ralentizar el tiempo unos segundos para esquivar disparos imposibles.
La regla es simple: si te tocan, mueres. Pero tus enemigos también caen con un solo tajo, así que la tensión es constante, este juego si que recuerdo en su momento fue muy comentado pero no se si es debido a que no era tan bueno o llego en un momento del mercado en donde habia demasiado que ver y no tuvo el recibimiento o las ventas que se esperaba
El juego te mete de nuevo en la piel de Jack, el protagonista del primer título, que ahora debe enfrentarse a nuevas amenazas dentro y fuera de la Torre Dharma. La ambientación es puro cyberpunk: luces de neón, facciones que quieren controlarlo todo y un protagonista que lo único que sabe hacer es cortar lo que se le atraviese. Me recuerda mucho en cierta forma a Katana Zero pero en 3D
Recuerdo vagamente que Epic tambien regaló su primera entrega hace unos años por lo que esta mas que bien este regalo para completar la historia y si en algun momento lo voy a jugar pueda agarrar las dos entregas de inmediato, no hay apuro ya que no me atrae demasiado pero si que es bueno saber que está ahi para los jugadores
Ademas de que es un juego diametralmente opuesto a los que nos han regalado en las ultimas semanas en donde hay un enfoque mucho mas marcado a la relajacion o a titulos que no requieran demasiada destreza por parte del usuario, es una verdadera sorpresa pero una que voy a recibir muy bien y voy a agregar a la biblioteca la proxima semana
Como puedes agregarla? solo necesitas una cuenta en Epic, estar en la pagina del titulo y esperar que digan que ya se puede reclamar, haces el checkout y ya lo vas a tener en la biblioteca y solo con el launcher instalado vas a poder jugarlo sin costo alguno, un verdadero juegazo gratis para los usuarios de Hive!
