Eastern Exorcist

This is the game of the week on the Epic Games Store! And as is the case with most of these games, I haven't played it and didn't even know it existed.

Browsing through gameplay on YouTube, what caught me wasn't the combat or the story, but the art. The game looks hand-painted with Indian ink, as if each stage were a painting hanging in a gallery. I think it's a sign that the indie game is going to be good.

It's rare for an indie game to look so striking at first glance, but this one manages to do so: between gloomy landscapes, grotesque monsters, and that air of Eastern tragedy, it's impossible not to stop and look.

Now, on the gameplay side, although I haven't tried it firsthand, it's quickly apparent that this is a game that doesn't forgive mistakes. It's one of those titles inspired by Souls but in 2D, with a strong emphasis on dodging, timing attacks, and, above all, timely parries.

In every gameplay, it's crystal clear that the system revolves around three things: attack, dodge, and parry. It sounds basic, but the key is timing. If you attack too much, you run out of spiritual energy and are out of luck. If you dodge too late, you take a hit that almost always takes half your health bar down.

And if you don't master parrying, you're basically dead in long fights. It's one of those titles that teaches you through hits: you miss, you die, you repeat... until you finally get it right, and it feels incredible.

I was struck by the fact that even the simplest enemies require attention. It's not like other games where the "minions" are filler: here, a couple of poorly placed creatures can make you use up all your healing. And when you get to the bosses, things escalate even further. They're huge, deformed, and each one has its own unique patterns.

That's all I could find out about the game, but one thing stands out, and that's the number of players who've played it on Steam and their ratings: VERY POSITIVE. It seems to have been very well received by the public, and we continue on that path where Epic, more than just a free game site, also works to explore titles outside of the realm. comfort

Como en todas las semanas aqui les traigo algunas de las novedades que he visto por parte de Epic Games y su programa de videojuegos gratis cada mes, hemos tenido unas semanas bastante productivas con verdaderos titulos AAA y algunas joyas indie que he destacado, aunque siento decir que esta vez parece que no vamos a tener ningun Hit

Eso no quiere decir que no sean juegos excelentes, de hecho TODOS los videojuegos que regala epic cada semana tienden a tener un score muy positivo tanto en la critica como en los jugadores que lo han probado, es un buen momento para salir de esa rutina de juegos que acostumbramos y adentrarnos a algo nuevo que puede que nos guste

Este es el juego de la semana en Epic Store! y como es el caso en la mayoria de estos juegos no lo he jugado ni sabe que existia

Navegando entre gameplays en YouTube, y lo que me atrapó no fue ni el combate ni la historia, sino el arte. El juego parece pintado a mano con tinta china, como si cada escenario fuese un cuadro colgado en una galería. Creo que es la señal de que el indie va a estar bueno

Es raro que un indie se vea tan llamativo de entrada, pero este lo logra: entre paisajes sombríos, monstruos grotescos y ese aire de tragedia oriental, es imposible no detenerse a mirar.

Ahora, del lado jugable, aunque no lo he probado de primera mano, se nota rápido que es un juego que no perdona errores. Es de esos títulos que toman inspiración en los Souls pero en 2D, con mucho peso en esquivar, medir ataques y sobre todo hacer parry a tiempo.

En cada gameplay se nota clarísimo que el sistema gira alrededor de tres cosas: ataque, esquiva y parry. Suena básico, pero la clave es el timing. Si atacas demasiado, te quedas sin energía espiritual y quedas vendido. Si esquivas a destiempo, recibes un golpe que casi siempre te baja media barra de vida.

Y si no dominas el parry, básicamente estás muerto en las peleas largas. Es uno de esos títulos que te enseñan a base de golpes: fallas, mueres, repites… hasta que finalmente lo logras y se siente increíble.

Me llamó mucho la atención que hasta los enemigos más simples requieren atención. No es como en otros juegos donde los “minions” son relleno: aquí un par de bichos mal puestos te pueden hacer gastar todas tus curas. Y cuando llegas a los jefes, la cosa escala todavía más. Son enormes, deformes y cada uno tiene sus propios patrones.

Eso es todo lo que pude indagar del juego pero hay una cosa que destaca bastante y es la cantidad de jugadores que lo han jugado en Steam y sus notas: MUY POSITIVAS al parecer tiene muy buena aceptacion con el publico y seguimos en esa racha de que Epic mas que un sitio de juegos gratis funciona tambien para explorar titulos lejos de la zona de comfort

Asi que ya saben, no necesitas mas que una cuenta, irte a la pagina del juego en las fechas que esté gratis y en menos de 5 minutos ya lo tienes en tu biblioteca listo para ser jugado, y si quieren mas juegos gratis no olviden en seguirme y estar pendiente de mi cuenta
