Epic Games continues its tradition of throwing in free gems every week, and this time it's the turn of a classic that shaped an entire generation of mobile gamers: Monument Valley. Yes, that surreal puzzle game you've surely seen in videos or screenshots, because its art style is impossible to forget.
And the best part: next week you can claim it completely free on PC through the Epic Games Store.
For those who've never played it, Monument Valley was released in 2014 and was developed by ustwo games, a British studio that took a chance on a super simple yet magical concept. The idea is to guide Princess Ida through scenarios that look like something out of some crazy abstract artist, those impossible drawings that defy logic and perspective.
This game isn't about shooting or racing against time, but rather manipulating structures, moving platforms, and creating paths where there aren't any for Ida to advance. It's a minimalist, relaxing puzzle game, and at the same time a visual journey that adds a boost to the gameplay.
The crazy thing about Monument Valley is that it's a game that's aged very well. Although it was born on mobile devices, its art style is so clean and timeless that it looks just as spectacular on PC. And be careful: it's not just a "pretty puzzle" game; it also apparently has a narrative undertone.

Epic Games sigue con su tradición de tirar joyitas gratis cada semana, y esta vez le toca a un clásico que marcó a toda una generación de jugadores de móviles: Monument Valley. Sí, ese jueguito de puzzles con estética surrealista que seguro viste en algún momento en videos o capturas, porque su estilo artístico es imposible de olvidar.
Y lo mejor: la próxima semana podrás reclamarlo totalmente gratis en PC a través de la Epic Games Store.
Para los que nunca lo jugaron, Monument Valley salió en 2014 y fue desarrollado por ustwo games, un estudio británico que se la jugó con un concepto súper simple pero a la vez mágico. La idea es guiar a la princesa Ida a través de escenarios que parecen sacados de algun artista abstracto chiflado, esos dibujos imposibles que desafían la lógica y la perspectiva.
Acá no se trata de disparar ni de correr contra el tiempo, sino de manipular estructuras, mover plataformas y crear caminos donde no los hay para que Ida avance. Es un puzzle minimalista, relajante, y al mismo tiempo un viaje visual que le da un plus a la jugabilidad
Lo loco de Monument Valley es que es un juego que envejeció muy bien. Aunque nació en móviles, su estilo artístico es tan limpio y atemporal que en PC luce igual de espectacular. Además, la versión que llega a Epic está optimizada para pantallas grandes, así que podrás disfrutarlo en tu monitor ultrawide con todos esos escenarios oníricos desplegados al máximo. Y ojo: no es solo un juego de “rompecabezas bonitos”, también al parecer tiene un trasfondo narrativo.
La historia de Ida, aunque se cuenta de forma muy sutil y sin palabras, tiene un aire melancólico y de búsqueda de redención que le da un plus emocional. Sumale una banda sonora tranquila y atmosférica, y el resultado es un juego desafiante pero que te acaricia visualmente, casi tanto como otro videojuego que he jugado: FEZ.
Ahora, lo importante: ¿cuándo y cómo conseguirlo gratis? Epic Games lo pondrá de regalo en su tienda digital desde el jueves 4 de septiembre hasta el jueves 11 de septiembre de 2025.
