Batteries Charged

So glad a new day is here. Yesterday just drug along. I am not sure why because I stayed somewhat busy during the day. It may be because I was up most of the night prior with that stomach issue mentioned in my last post.

Well, the electrician got the work done. They were fantastic. VEry professional and fast. They grounding rod and bonding bar was installed outside, along with a coupole extra outlets in my office/den. They started work around 8:30am and finsihed before noon.

After they left, I worked on my wife's car. It wasn't starting and I suspected the battery had gone bad because it would stay charged. Now typically taking a battery out of an older model vehicle wasn't that big of a deal for a half-ass mechanic like myself, but hers was built in 2013. Which means it has all the electronic shit.

When I popped the battery cover off, there was this extra cover attached to the battery by plastic clips connected to the postive terminal with other wires ferrying off to other portions of the car. It ended up being the pain in my back side to take off the battery.

I was finally able to manage to fumble my way into finding the plastic clips holding that cover on and unclipped them with a small screw driver. This alao was the hard part because they were in a deficult to reach spot.

Once that was off, everything else was easy peasy. I finsihed unbolting things and removed the battery. We ran it to the local auto parts store, bought and new one with the old one as a core exchange.

When the new one was in place it went in rather easily and quickly. That little cover that gave me so much trouble coming off went back on like a synch. Ever thing else just bolted back in as normal and the car started right back up.

Funny story though, when I was tightening the last terminal, abnd having power restored, the anti-theft alarm activated on the car. It starteled the crap out of me and darn near hit my head on the hood of the car. My wife was watching and she laughed after she was done being startled herself.

Well, it was a pretty good day overall, and I was somewhat wore out from keeping an eye on the electricians and then in the semi-heat fighting with the car. I am just starting to get my legs baack under me regularly again without passing out all the time, so I get tired easily. But it feels great to be active again.
