Yeah, it has been a while since I have posted anything. There has been reasons for that. They may not necessarilly be good ones to some, but they are mine and I don't care what others think.

A while back my best fur buddy, in fact my best buddy period, Bailey had to be put down. She had contracted a fast moving cancer that spread throughout her body. We made the decision to not let her suffer one day just so we could be spared some grief.

I posted about it and you can read in my previous posts if you happen to give a crap. I won't go over it all again about how much she meant to me.

Anyway, after I let her go, I decided it was time to start making some changes in my life. One of those changes was the reduction of online activities, and this included Hive. It was time for me to start getting out, walking more, living and experiencing the real world even if the real world seems to suck most of the time.

What I I found is that my mood improved greatly, motivation has started returning, and I am starting to feel better overall. Probably not a suprise to many with a hint of common sense. But when you are trapped in a cycle of your own dark thoughts it can seem like an wonderful place you have been to before, but far away and will never see again.

All that said, a couple weeks ago the day finally arrived when I told the wife I was ready for another dog. So a a few days later we headed to the local animal shelter to look for a new buddy for me. The very first dog they brought out for us to look at was Lilly.

Lilly immediately came to me and started peeing all over the floor as she tried to jump on me and lick me. I told the wife, "Nobody has ever been this excited to see me! I have to have this one."

So after some paperwork, we ere on our way home with my new buddy Lilly. That is her with the long tongue in the photo. It is not the best photo as she would not hold still and it was dark in the room.

Right now she takes up more with the wife than she does me, but I am sure as we spend more time together, that may change. At least I am hoping it does. She does pretty good on a leash, so looking to start taking her on my morning walks with me when I go. She is just afraid of my cane, so got to get her used to it.

So, I am back, will be posting more about some changes, updates and new things I have been up to in the next couple days. Until then, say hi to Lilly.
