Two Sided Sunday

Sunday started off really well. It was Mother's Day here in the U.S. It was time to celebrate my wife hauling around my two progeny inside her and giving birth to them. Sorry, but it is something I would not want to do and I have been through some physical shit in my life that most average people couldn't even fathom. She is a machine!

So I got up before she did, letting her sleep in. I suck as a cook in the kitchen, so I got online and ordered a delivery for breakfast. I ordered from a place called Craker Barrel. She was able to wake up to a plate of their amazing biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon.Yeah, I am a putz. but at least she ain't got food poisoning from my cooking.

We then hung out a little bit and talked and reminisced about our mothers, who are both deceased. My oldest son called her to wish her a Happy Mom's Day. They talked for a good while as usual. They even conjured up a plan for our next visit to go see them in North Carolina in July.

It was shortly after that that things started to go a little sideways. My wonkiness started creeping in as I would walk around and do things. My brain fog was getting bad, and I felt like I was going to pass out a lot. Not wanting to ruin her day by falling out, I laid down for a nap.

By the time I woke, it was time to start prepping things for the grill. I still wasn't feeling well, but the grill is my domain and I had promised her steaks on the grill for dinner. My youngest son came over and we threw the steaks and some potatoes and carrots on the grill.

While watiing for them to smoke, we ate a salad and started watching a movie she requested called Nonnas. It is based on a true story. I recommend it if your into feel good stories. About halfway through the movie, the food was ready and we finished eating while watching the movie.

After the movie my son hugged us bye and left. Then we started cleanup. This is when things went totally south. As I was carrying the trash bag out to the garage I passed out in the kitchen. Fell right on top off the trash bag, thankfully because it broke my fall for the most part. I did fall on my bad shoulder and it still hurts like hell this morning. My back is giving me fits as well.

It sucked we ended her day with me being the center of attention and not her. I plan to make it up to her somehow though. Not sure what yet, but I will.

I owe her so much, I will never be able to repay it.
