Hello Hive
Hey everyone, we’re thrilled to share the latest episode of our CBRS Podcast, where we dive into the world of Hive Blockchain and its vibrant communities. This time, we had an awesome chat with two members of the @SkateHive community, @web-gnar and @blessskateshop. It was a lively discussion full of passion, ideas, and a shared love for skateboarding and blockchain. Here’s a rundown of what went down!
Skate Hive: The Underground Skateboarding Network
We kicked things off by getting to know #SkateHive, a community that’s all about bringing skateboarders together on the Hive Blockchain. @web-gnar, one of the founders, shared how SkateHive started as a passion project on the ~~Steem~~ blockchain before moving to Hive. The name “Webgnar” comes from the gnarly, rebellious vibe of skateboarding mixed with the techy world of crypto—pretty cool, right?
SkateHive is like an underground #network for #skaters who want to take back control of their online space. Web-gnar explained how skateboarding has shaped trends, from fashion to Instagram’s cool factor, and Skate Hive is here to channel that energy into a #decentralized platform. It’s not just about posting tricks; it’s about building a community where skaters support each other and share their creativity freely.
Passion, Community, and Real Connections
@blessskateshop, joining us from Brazil, brought so much heart to the conversation. He shared how SkateHive is a game-changer for skaters in places like #Brazil, where access to gear like boards and wheels can be tough due to economic challenges. SkateHive offers a new way for skaters to earn through their #content, whether it’s a sick trick or a simple moment captured on video. @blessskateshop enthusiasm was infectious and he called it a “new economy for skate,” and we couldn’t agree more!
What makes SkateHive special is its realness. Unlike some online communities with big numbers but little connection, Skate Hive is buzzing with activity. Members share videos, cheer each other on, and even set up bounties for crazy tricks. It’s all about that raw, authentic vibe that makes #skateboarding so unique. We love how they’re building something bigger than themselves, and it’s inspiring to see a community so dedicated to supporting each other.
Bridging Skate Hive with the Hive Ecosystem
We also dug into how Skate Hive fits into the broader Hive Blockchain. One thing that stood out was their approach to transparency. Unlike most Hive platforms, where you can see everyone’s wallet balances, Skate Hive keeps that info private to focus on fun, not money. @web-gnar admitted this was a deliberate choice to keep the community vibe pure, but we tossed around the idea of adding more transparency, like showing X accounts linked to profiles for extra promotion.
Another big topic was @worldmappin. SkateHive has its own map of skate spots, but we suggested connecting with Hive’s Worldmappin project to share those spots globally. Imagine skaters worldwide finding new places to shred, all linked back to SkateHive! We also talked about tools like @Hivedebit cards and airdrops and make the platform even more engaging. The idea of a SkateHive event at a @HiveFest got us all pumped!

Looking Ahead: Building Together
By the end of the #podcast, we were buzzing with ideas. SkateHive’s passion for skateboarding and blockchain is contagious, and we’re excited to collaborate with them. We talked about amplifying their content through our @Hive-Echo project, where we boost cool posts on X to reach more people. We also want to help SkateHive connect with other Hive tools, like @worldmappin or @Acidyo’s Posh project, to make their platform even stronger.
This episode was a reminder of why we love Hive and it’s all about communities like SkateHive that bring people together to create, share, and grow. Big thanks to @web-gnar and @blessskateshop for joining us, and we’re already planning to keep the conversation going. Stay tuned for more CBRS Podcast episodes, and let’s keep building the Hive community together!
