Went Searching For The American Dream, Found Cats

Today was the opening reception of Doing Americana: Photography, Mythology, and the American Dream down at the University of Louisville. The exhibition is part of this year's Louisville Photo Biennial, and having been on my own personal quest to photograph the American Dream for some time now I had to check it out.

Was really interested in talking to the photographer(s) behind the photos, try and pick their brain a bit about capturing something as elusive as the American Dream. Got there and discovered I'd need an Ouija board for that as the photos were pulled from U of L's collections and dated back to World War II. Seems I'd misunderstood the premise of the exhibition a bit.

Was still a great show, just not quite the one I was expecting. Came back home all excited to go through my old photos with new eyes and see what there was waiting to be found. Played the old eeny, meeny, miny, moe with the hard drive collection and went to clicking.

Somehow, the next thing I know I'm editing cat photos. This being my equivalent of a Saturday, just decided to call it Caturday and lean into it. If there was a moral to this story, Tito forgot what it was.

Destroying blinds is the ~~American~~ feline dream, at least according to Tito here. Tuxedos talking about dreams is how we got to the point of searching for them, so I'd take anything he says with a grain of cat fur.
